Introducing Community Game Help, a new enhancement for Game Help powered by user-generated content

This update adds to the current Game Help experience and will be available to all PS5 console players later this year.

When the PlayStation 5 console launched in 2020, we introduced Game Help to enable players to easily access hints, tips, or walkthrough videos without leaving the game to help them progress through a level, obtain a trophy, or find a coveted hidden item.

We’re always evolving the PS5 console experience, and today, we are happy to announce a new enhancement for Game Help launching later this year: Community Game Help. Community Game Help will add to the current Game Help experience by expanding the library of helpful game hints, incorporating videos that are automatically generated from gameplay footage of players who have opted in to contribute.

When the enhanced Game Help experience featuring content from the community launches, Game Help will be available to all PS5 players, with or without a PlayStation Plus subscription. In supported games, PS5 players will be able to contribute their gameplay, view hints from fellow gamers, or access Game Help hints created by developers. Game developers can also continue to create their own hint videos, as seen in popular titles available today like The Last of Us Part II Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Let’s take a deeper look at how Community Game Help will work. 

How to access Community Game Help

If you are already familiar with the current Game Help experience, Community Game Help will be largely similar. If you find yourself in a tricky situation and need help, press the PS button to open the Control Center and look for an Action Card with the “Hints inside” icon.

In addition to the developer-generated hints that are currently provided in supported games, you will eventually start to see hints labeled “Community Game Help”, which indicates that the clip was generated from other players’ gameplay footage. You can also rate the usefulness of these hints, which will allow us to curate informative help content for players.

Game Help is currently available on PlayStation App, so you can also use your mobile device to access these hints without taking space on your game screen. 

 How to contribute to Community Game Help

If you enjoy sharing your gaming expertise with others and are willing to contribute to Community Game Help, you can participate by opting in from the Settings menu.* You can also opt out any time, which will remove all of your published videos from Community Game Help. These settings will become available within the next few months, so please stay tuned for more information.

• Go to [Captures & Broadcasts] >[Captures] > [Auto Captures] > [Community Game Help], then select [Participate] to opt in to the program.
• You can also select the monthly capture limit to control how many videos you will allow to be captured from your gameplay per month.

Download the image

Once you turn on the settings, your PS5 will automatically capture a video when you complete a certain activity in a game. Then, it will be reviewed by a moderator, and if approved, your video will be published as a Game Help hint for PlayStation players to watch, learn from, and rate. Your videos will be removed from the PS5 console once they are uploaded to our servers, so it will not impact your console storage.

When your video is published, you will receive a system notification on your PS5 console. 

This process will be done automatically, so you don’t need to edit or upload your clips for submission. Only your raw game footage will be uploaded, so images and audio from your webcam, microphone, or party chat audio will not be shared with the moderator or the community. Depending on the game you’re playing, your video may include online IDs or chat messages that are shown on your game screen.

You can check your published videos from the settings menu and remove them at any time.

Community Game Help will start to become available in select games later this year, and our goal is to expand it to as many titles as possible in the future.

Apple Pencil

Rumor: new apple pencil could come with vision pro support.

Currently, Apple Vision Pro has a few different options for text input, including a virtual keyboard, Siri, or using a separate Bluetooth keyboard. A new rumor today says that Apple could bring Apple Pencil support to Vision Pro as a new way of interacting with visionOS.

Today’s rumor comes from MacRumors , who cites an “anonymous source familiar with the matter.” The report doesn’t dive into many details, but says that Apple “has internally tested a new Apple Pencil with visionOS support.” The feature could work for text input as well as drawing in apps such as Freeform and Pixelmator.

There have also been rumors of a new Apple Pencil launching alongside the refreshed iPad Pro lineup expected next month. MacRumors says, however, that it has “not confirmed if it will support visionOS.”

Apple is expected to announce visionOS 2.0 for Apple Vision Pro at WWDC in June. It’s also possible that Apple adds Apple Pencil compatibility to Apple Vision Pro with a software update sooner than that, such as visionOS 1.2. While visionOS 2 will be announced in June, it isn’t expected to actually ship until September at the earliest.

You can listen to music, make phone calls, use Siri, and more with your AirPods.

Control audio with your AirPods Pro (2nd generation)

To play and pause audio or to mute yourself during a phone call, press the Touch control on the stem of an AirPod. To resume playback or to unmute yourself, press again.

To skip forward, double-press the Touch control.

To skip back, triple-press the Touch control.

To turn the volume up or down, place your thumb on the stem of either AirPod, and use your index finger to swipe up or down on the Touch control.

Use Siri with your AirPods Pro (2nd generation)

You can use Siri with your AirPods to ask questions and make phone calls. Siri can also control your music and check on your AirPods. To set an AirPod Pro to use Siri , press and hold the Touch control.

While ChatGPT is primarily a chat-based artificial intelligence, recent integration with DALL-E allows subscribers to use the text-based program to generate images as well. But, while learning AI-generated art doesn't take the time and commitment of learning to wield a paintbrush, there is still a learning curve to understand how to use ChatGPT to create AI images.

While some artists have embraced the concept, from using AI to create a mood board for their own human-generated art to selling AI-generated pieces, others have pushed back on systems that primarily learned from images scraped from the internet, some of them copyrighted. But DALL-E integration now allows the AI to generate text as well as images. The DALLE-E integration that is required for image generation, however, is only available with a paid ChatGPT+ subscription, which currently costs $20 a month.

• Log in to your ChatGPT account or start a new subscription to ChatGPT+.
• At chat.openai.com, tap Explore GPTs from the sidebar on the left.
• Click DALL-E from the top navigation bar.
• Choose image generator from the list.
• Create a prompt describing the image that you would like to generate. For example, my prompt for the image above was: "Create a portrait of an artist using ChatGPT to make artwork."
• Hit enter and wait for ChatGPT to generate the image.
• Once the image is generated , you can make changes by typing in further instructions, though the regeneration will have other differences besides what you typed, as the system regenerates an entirely new image. For example, the prompt above originally generated a horizontal image, so I then typed in, "Change this to a 5:3 aspect ratio."
• Make as many changes as you would like by typing in the instructions. Then, when you are ready, hover over the final image and click the download icon (the arrow) in the upper left corner.

Text-based prompts can quickly go wrong -- while a badly written prompt is good for some laughs, if you want to generate the image right the first time, you'll want to write a detailed, specific prompt. Or, you can even ask ChatGPT to write the prompt for you.

1. Ask ChatGPT to help build your prompt

If you are lost on what to type as a prompt, before navigating to the image generator, ask Chat GPT to generate a prompt for you. That AI chat interface can help you develop your prompt before heading into the DALL-E integration.

2. Be as specific as possible.

The more specific you are, the more likely you are to end up with a usable image. The more descriptive you are with your prompt, the faster you'll get an image that closely resembles what you are imagining.

As you write your prompt, consider things like:

• Style: Do you want a painting? A photorealistic image? A watercolor? Include the type of image that you are looking for.
• People: Be more specific than "person," which tends to default to a white male. Name things like gender and ethnicity. What are they wearing? Are they standing, sitting, or doing something else?
• Background: What should be in the background? Is the person that you asked to be typing on a computer working in a coffee shop? A messy home office? A high-end corporate office?
• Colors: Cohesive colors can play a big role over the feel of the final image. What color clothing are the people wearing? What color is the furniture? The sky in a landscape shot?

3. Avoid words with double meanings.

AI doesn't understand all the double meanings words can have, especially implied meanings. For example, I once tried to turn my sister's friend into Big Foot. The AI image generator created a large foot instead. Sasquatch would have been a better, though less hilarious, word choice.

4. Include the aspect ratio that you would like

Do you want a square 1:1 Instagram-shaped image? Do you want a horizontal or vertical image? If the size and orientation matters, include the aspect ratio in your prompt. Some common horizontal sizes are 5:4, 3:2, or 16:9. For a vertical image, the smaller number is listed first (4:5, 2:3, 9:16).

Before creating any image with AI, it's important to consider ethics. In many cases, image generation programs are built by scraping images from the internet to train the system -- and many of those images are copyrighted. For this reason, many artists choose to avoid AI-based tools.

If you use AI to generate art, there are a few general best practices to keep in mind. Chief among these is to always be clear that the art was generated by AI. Don't pretend that you learned how to paint overnight. Be clear that the image was created by AI. Even worse than pretending you learned painting overnight is pretending an actual artist created it -- that's called forgery.

Second, don't use an artist's name when typing your prompt. Using an artist's name to copy a style is against ChatGPT's current policy restrictions, though it will translate an artist's name into a description of a style. Creating images of a public figure, such as a politician, is also against ChatGPT guidelines.

Finally, remember that the U.S. Copyright Office says that artwork that is not generated by a human cannot be copyrighted. That means someone can take and use an image that was generated by AI.

AI-generated artwork is another example of technology outpacing the legal system. AI-generated software has already seen a number of lawsuits, often tied to the use of copyrighted images to train the system. For example, Getty brought a lawsuit against Stability AI after the software sometimes tried to generate Getty's watermark. The software companies behind the AI programs insist using images to train the system is fair use, while many artists disagree. Some lawsuits are still ongoing.

One legal issue that has made it all the way through the Supreme Court is copyright. An image that is not generated by a human cannot be copyrighted, according to both the U.S. Copyright Office and the Supreme Court decision . That doesn't prevent someone from creating AI artwork, but that also doesn't prevent anyone from stealing the AI work that you generated and selling it themselves.

A number of platforms have popped up specifically for selling AI-created art. Yes, you can sell AI-generated art, though laws may vary based on where you live. The biggest caveat is that, in the U.S., you cannot copyright that art. If someone wants the AI-generated artwork that you are selling, nothing is stopping them from typing in a similar prompt to spit out a similar image for free.

How do I update my images on IMDb page via IMDbPro?

An active IMDbPro membership is required in order to add or update the images on your IMDb page. Once you've claimed your IMDb page with your IMDbPro membership, you can add up to 200 images to your page, and select your primary and featured images via IMDbPro.

You can directly manage your images by navigating to your IMDbPro page from a desktop computer, and selecting the "Images" tab. You can also manage your images on the IMDbPro app by selecting the photo icon in the upper-right corner of the app, selecting "Your Page", and then selecting the "Images" tab. How do I add an image?

You can add images to your IMDbPro name page through the IMDbPro app and desktop version by following the steps below:

• If desired, you may choose to set the image as your primary image; add a caption, photographer, or copyright; or add tags for other names or titles

You will need an individual  IMDbPro membership for each name page that you wish to claim and upload assets to.

To add an image to an IMDb title page (e.g. movie, TV show, TV episode, video game, etc.) simply select the " Add Image " option located at the end of the image gallery.

How do I set my primary image?

• Select the image
• Select "Set as primary" to the bottom right of the photo

• Select the “Edit” link above the "Featured" section

• Drag and drop the images to your preferred display
• Select "Save"

How do I edit an image I've uploaded?

• Select the image from your "Images" tab
• Select "Edit info and tags" link in the image viewer

This will allow you to change the image’s information such as the Caption, Photographer, Copyright, and tagged names and titles. Editing image information is not currently available in the IMDbPro app.

To edit your primary image on a desktop computer, mobile website, and the iOS & Android Apps:

• Go to your Images tab or Image Gallery
• Select the "Edit Primary Image" button
• You should see a modal with your primary image allowing you to crop, rotate, and preview your primary image

New primary images uploaded may not be accessible for customization immediately after upload. Please allow up to 20 minutes after upload to access the customization features of the Primary Image Editor tool.

Can I delete images?

• Select "Delete"
• Select "Delete" in the confirmation pop-up window

You can also request deletion of images which were uploaded by IMDb editorial by clicking "Report this", though these requests will be vetted by IMDb. Note that if there are other people tagged in the image with you, you cannot delete the image in its entirety. However, you can un-tag yourself so that the image no longer appear in your images though it will continue to appear in the other tagged people’s galleries.

Any images that you upload and any changes you make to these images are not vetted by IMDb before they are published on the site. Note that images must adhere to IMDb’s Image Guidelines , and your image may be removed if it violates policy. You can also make changes to images that are uploaded by IMDb editorial, however these changes may be vetted before they take effect.

Are there image restrictions?

• Profanity or obscene gestures
• Any contact information (phone number, address, email, or website)
• Age, height, weight info
• Advertising for products or services
• Text or images that infringe on the copyright, trademark, or patents of a third party
• Frequent or intense profanity
• Frequent or intense realistic violence
• Frequent or intense horror-themed content
• Your face should be clearly visible in the image, and centered in the frame
• The image must be in portrait orientation, and at least 500 pixels wide
• No watermarks or logos should be present on the image
• The image should be just of you
• Primary images must be kid-friendly and suitable for all audiences

Where will my images show up?

The images you’ve uploaded will be published across IMDb, IMDbPro, and Prime Video.

How long do the changes I’ve made to my images take to show up?

Any changes you make to your images should take affect within a few minutes of your update. Note that there may be some changes which will require vetting by IMDb staff and may take up to a day to take effect. This may occur when you’re requesting a change to one of your images which was uploaded by IMDb editorial, or are requesting to tag another person or title into one of your images.

Can other people change my images?

Users can suggest updates or report images which appear on your page. These requests are carefully vetted by IMDb data editors before publication.

Can I submit a headshot for another person or for multiple people?

You can claim only one IMDb page per IMDbPro membership. If you want to upload images to multiple individuals' pages, you will need to create a membership for each IMDb page.

What happens to my images when I cancel my membership?

Any images that you’ve uploaded will be removed from the site when you cancel your membership. This may include your primary image and featured image selections, as well as any images which you have added to your gallery. Note that any images uploaded by IMDb editorial and the changes you’ve made to these images will continue to be displayed on the site even after you’ve cancelled.

I was a Publicity Photos customer. How do I update my images?

If you were an IMDb Publicity Photo customer in the early 2000s, the images you purchased with this service will remain on your IMDb page permanently for free. We're unable to switch these images with new ones. If you wish add images to your IMDb page, you'll need to join IMDbPro.

If you cancel your IMDbPro membership, any images uploaded to your page through IMDbPro will be removed when your membership expires and the Publicity Photo will appear as your primary image.

At this time, IMDb Publicity Photos cannot be edited through an IMDbPro membership. If you'd like to remove an image uploaded through Publicity Photos, please visit the Contact Us page while logged into your IMDbPro account (if you are logged out of your IMDbPro account, please select here instead  and let us know how we can help.

How do I update my Featured Images?

To manage your Featured Images, you may either select the Edit pen located on your Name Page or navigate to your photo gallery . Select which images you want to showcase on IMDb, IMDbPro, and Prime Video by clicking on any photo in your Images gallery and clicking or dragging and dropping on an image slot in your primary or featured images.

You can also let IMDb select the images for you. The tool will display all available images and can be sorted by Featured, Date Uploaded, and Title/Event for your convenience. All updates will be displayed across IMDb, IMDbPro, and Prime Video within minutes.

In order to manage your Primary and Featured Images using the IMDbPro app , you can either tap on your Primary Image and then "Select new primary image" or navigate to the "Images" tab and tap on the "Edit" pen next to "Featured". To replace an image, tap on the slot and then the image you would like to place in this location. To adjust the order of your Featured Images, you can drag and drop your images in the "Featured" section. Once finished making changes, tap "Apply" to save your changes.
