Where Is TLC’s ‘90 Day: The Last Resort’ Filmed?
Nene leakes not returning for ‘real housewives of atlanta’ season 16, ‘the traitors’ recap: phaedra vs parvati … and how did trishelle cannatella become sherlock holmes all of a sudden, ‘love is blind’s chelsea likes instagram comment hinting at trouble in paradise, ‘love is blind’ season 6 “bean dip” controversy explained.
What would happen if you took a handful of notably struggling couples from the iconic TLC franchise 90 Day Fiancé and put them together for a group couples retreat at a luxurious vacation resort in a last ditch effort to save their relationships?
This is the concept of TLC’s newest summer reality series, 90 Day: The Last Resort , in which couples check into a gorgeous Florida Keys resort and, in a pressure cooker environment complete with group therapy sessions, try to restore the love they once shared before it’s too late.
As each couple — including social-media stars Jovi and Yara from Season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé — enjoy the beautiful offerings of their vacationscape, they all must answer the essential question for themselves: Stay together or move forward alone? Amidst all of the indiscretions, trust issues and heated disagreements, there’s plenty of stunning visual beauty from the landscape for the viewer to get lost in.
But where was The Last Resort filmed? According to a January Starcasm report and posts from some of the couples’ Instagram accounts, it appears that the filming for 90 Day: The Last Resort took place in the Florida Keys. Here’s everything we know:
Where is TLC’s 90 Day: The Last Resort filmed?
If you’re inspired to stay at the same spot where 90 Day: The Last Resort is filmed, production took place primarily at the Isla Bella Beach Resort in Marathon, Florida.
The resort sits on 24 acres in the heart of the Keys, and it comes complete with gorgeous beaches, luxurious poolsides and balconies with stunning ocean views to watch the sunset from. There’s a Polyneisan-inspired restaurant, the Marketplace Cafe, as well as The Beach Bar for all of your fine dining needs. If you’re inspired to rekindle your own failing relationship, perhaps this beach resort is an attractive place to not just kick back and unwind, but apparently also to work out deep rooted relationship issues with your partner!
Travel + Leisure named the Isla Bella Beach Resort one of the Top 15 Resorts in all of Florida in 2021. If that’s not enough to make even these couples’ toxic conflicts look romantic, we don’t know what will!
90 Day: The Last Resort airs at 9/8c on Mondays on TLC.

You’ve watched them get married as practically strangers, now they’re putting their relationships to the ultimate test: couple’s therapy. And if you’re wondering who’s still together from 90 Day Fianc é : The Last Resort , buckle up because things are about to get messy.
There’s a lot of content to consume in the 90 Day Fiancé universe. The original show follows couples who have received a K-1 visa, which is uniquely available to betrothed partners of US citizens. The Other Way is exactly what it sounds like—American couples who move to their partner’s home country. “ It’s about love ,” 90 Day Fiancé executive producer, Matt Sharp, told Gold Derby in May 2022 when asked what makes the TLC reality TV series so popular.
He continued: “Love is primal, but I think we tapped into a couple of things . One is that this show is incredibly authentic. I’m a huge lover of The Bachelor and that franchise, however, we were one of the first shows to actually tell real stories about ordinary Americans and their love journeys. Also, this show is about this journey with other cultures. When we launched this show in 2014, we were on the ‘love frontier’ of this whole new era of finding people all over the world.”
He continued: “This is the most diverse show on television,” Sharp asserted. “You can challenge me on it. We featured people from 51 countries at this point. We have subtitles. We have people that don’t speak the same language and have completely different cultures. We’re trying to tell unique stories every time and when we’re in the casting process we’re evaluating people based on their personalities, backgrounds and their stories, but also we just want to tell unique, fresh, interesting stories.” So who’s still together? Read on.
90 Day Fiance: The Last Resort airs at 9 pm Mondays ET on TLC.
Who’s still together from 90 Day Fianc é : The Last Resort?
Here’s the tea on the show’s five couples.
Are Ed and Liz still together?
Are Ed and Liz still together from 90 Day: The Last Resort ? Yes, according to InTouch Weekly, they were married on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in Bentonville, Arkansas. According to the wedding website, the festivities kicked off at 3 pm at Holland Barn Venue and wrapped up around 10 pm. They haven’t shared photos of their nuptials yet.
Ed proposed to Liz for “the very last time” on the season finale of The Other Way . “So I want you to know how truly lucky you are to have found such a beautiful catch,” he joked, but then, it was all sincere. “You are one of the kindest, warmest, and loving women, mom and fiancée,” he said. “You make me want to strive to be a better man. You’re making me a better son, a better father and a better partner.”
Liz said: “You have taught me to laugh again. You have supported me, and I just want to let you know that you are not unnoticed. You take really good care of Ryleigh, and I see the love that you have for her. You connect to her in ways that somehow I don’t seem to connect to her. And I hope you really do know how much she loves you.”
After meeting on 90 Day: The Single Life and starting a relationship, Ed and Liz experienced several highs and lows. They moved in together and got engaged, but they’ve also broken up around a dozen times. Between the trust issues and conflicting goals, it hasn’t been an easy road for Ed and Liz — but they’re not ready to give up.
“I don’t think we actually know the count anymore, to be honest,” the reality star admitted during an interview with E! News . But, she joked, “I have enough diamonds to make up for every breakup.” Liz noted that she’s “still wearing a ring,” while Ed coyly noted, “I don’t have a ring yet.”
“I don’t think we actually know the count anymore, to be honest,” the reality star admitted during an interview with E! News . But, she joked, “I have enough diamonds to make up for every breakup.” Liz noted that she’s “still wearing a ring,” while Ed coyly noted, “I don’t have a ring yet.” As of late August 2023, he’s still posting about her on Instagram and they still follow each other so we have to assume they’re still together.
On The Sarah Fraser Show podcast, part one of which was published on August 21, 2023, Liz and Ed spoke about how their relationship seems stronger than ever and why Liz has another engagement ring. They also answered the question of why they’ve kept coming back together, to which they both agreed that “we’re never ready to leave each other at the same time,” Ed said. “When you’re ready to leave each other at the same time, then it’s over.”
Are Jovi and Yara still together?
Are Jovi and Yara still together from 90 Day Fiance: The Last Resort ? Yes, as they recommitted to each other in the season finale. Jovi went first. “I want to work on communicating with you better and building trust with each other, because that’s one of the biggest things we’ve had issues with,” he said. “I want to make you feel loved, I want to make you feel beautiful, and I want to give you and [our daughter] Myla more of my time. I want to give you more special, romantic moments to make you feel appreciated, and I love the way that you have changed me to be a better person.”
Then Yara spoke. “I just want to start that you are a super loving husband and you are the best dad in the world, and I’m gonna cry right now. You’re [the best] daddy that I [could] ever dream of. Myla is so happy to have you, and I am so happy to have you. I just want to be the same to you, a good wife as I am a mother, as we’re both parents to our [little bun],” she said. They also celebrated 2023 Halloween by dressing up as members of the Addams Family . Super cute.
Jovi and Yara first appeared on Season 8 of 90 Day Fiance and have come a long way. They got married, welcomed precious daughter Mylah into their lives, and compromised on their living situation. However, the path to a successful marriage is rarely a smooth one.
Deciding where to raise their child, trying for another baby, suffering a miscarriage, and dealing with long distances due to Jovi’s job have been hot topics for the couple, among many others. Their disagreements about future plans have them at a stalemate. As of May 2023, according to a selfie shared on Instagram , their relationship was doing OK but they clearly have some stuff to sort out by opting to go on The Last Resort.
Are Angela and Michael still together?
Are Angela and Michael still together from 90 Day Fiance: The Last Resort? Yes, as of the finale which aired on October 30, they decided to stick together despite his cheating scandals.
Angela actually arrived at their final therapy session with divorce papers in hand. But Michael began the session (virtually) by telling Angela how much he loved her. “I promise you my wife, I will not lie to you,” he said. “I will be honest with you at all times. Also, I will make you happy now and forever, my love. And also, I will support you in good and bad times, so help my God. Amen.”
Then, Angela spoke. “I don’t have to write down nothing that I’m saying to you because it comes directly from my heart. I just want to tell you — I’ve always loved you, never gave up on us, but, you know, I truly love you, or I wouldn’t be here. And I’m shocked I’m doing this, I do love you Michael, with all my heart, but these are divorce papers,” she said.
After a cliffhanger, Angela tore up the papers. “It breaks my heart that I had to go this far,” she said. “I know we have a lot further to go, this doesn’t stop here. But I’m your wife, and I’m gonna back you up in all that you need.”
In an interview with ET published on August 7, 2023, Angela said: “I am in love with him, but you know, love don’t keep a person together. “You both have to come to an understanding and this journey we’ve been on it just went explosive each season and you can not script nothing like this. This is real-life people and I’m just one that’s not ashamed to show you.”
We first met Angela and Michael in the second season of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days . Unfortunately, years of long-distance love have certainly taken its toll on their relationship. Questionable social media activity, differing values, conflicting goals, and trust issues have all led to countless arguments — some worse than others. At the end of the day, Angela and Michael always found their way back to each other.
But in the teaser video of 90 Day Fiancé, Angela breaks the unexpected news to Michael. “I do love you, Michael, with all my heart,” she says tearfully. “But these are divorce papers.” Though it might be unexpected to him, the 90 Day Fiancé crew were hinting about the split ever since Happily Ever After.
“Right now, divorce is definitely on the table,” Angela told cameras in the show aired in January. “I’m definitely gonna file. That doesn’t mean I’m gonna sign. I’m mentally exhausted and I’m very hurt. With Michael’s lying and all, and all the stuff I just found out, I don’t think he’s ever loved me. I think he loves me ’cause everything I’ve done for him, but he can’t tell me why he’s in love with me.”
Are Kalani and Asuelu still together?
Are Kalani and Asuelu still together from 90 Day: The Last Resort ? No, they finalized their split on the penultimate episode of the season. In the season finale, which aired on October 30, 2023, they did commit to a co-parenting relationship.
“I commit to being a better friend to you, and to building a good friendship. I want to learn how to communicate gently and be more peaceful and patient with you,” Kalani told Asuelu. “I want to be there for you, and for you to do the same with me. And I want to co-parent the best I can with you so we can still have a very good, strong family. I just want to make sure that we always put our kids first and just help each other out.”
Asuelu was emotional. “I just want to commit that I want to have a nice co-parent with you, and I wanna appreciate everything that you do and done for me,” he said. “I just wanna apologize for everything that I treat you and done bad to you and hurt your feelings. I just hope that you forgive what I did and all the past that we have, I want you to let it go and just make a new friendship. I just want us to love and respect to each other and trust to each other from here to the future.”
On July 13, 2023, The Sun reported that Kalani had moved on from Asuelu with a man by the name of Dallas Nuez—the “tattooed man” and “hall pass” she teased on an episode that aired on August 21, 2023.
Let’s get their background straight. Asuelu wanted to save his marriage after his infidelity, so he gave Kalani a “hall pass” so that she could go and kiss anyone she wanted to. “But he only told me that because he thought I wouldn’t do anything,” Kalani said, but she did.
Then, on the episode of 90 Day that aired on August 21, Kalani and Asuelu had a massive argument about said “hall pass” when she confessed she had feelings for him. “I took Asuelu up on the hall pass when he cheated because sexually, I’ve only been with Asuelu and I just wanted to see what it was like,” she said in a confessional interview. “But once I got to know this other person better, I ended up liking the other man. So I don’t know.”
Asuelu told her he was “really mad and upset” because it was “painful” to learn that Kalani had fallen for another man. Later, she explained, “I only slept with you before him. You realize, right? So yes, it’s a big deal for me to sleep with somebody else who’s not my husband, so I had to keep a connection with him.”
We were first introduced to Kalani and Asuelu in Season 6 of 90 Day Fiance , while Kalani was on vacation in Asuelu’s native country of Samoa. They quickly got pregnant and welcomed their first child, son Oliver, in January 2018. Now, the couple is entering the resort in a state of relationship crisis. As they navigate their trust issues, huge revelations come to light. Trying to reconnect through therapy, can Kalani and Asuelu move past their indiscretions and find love again?
In a preview clip for season 1 of 90 Day: The Last Resort , Kalani said cheating was one of the reasons their relationship is on the rocks. “We’re here because we’ve had a lot of issues with infidelity. We are trying to figure that out and I think the biggest thing for us is that we are trying to figure it out for our kids,” Kalani said before Asuelu added, “I feel like the reason why we’re here is because of me.” He added, through tears: “I have a lot of things that I need to work on myself. I know what I did is really bad. I just need to get the answer of my own problems that I have.”
On Instagram in late August 2023, one of Kalani’s followers asked if she would ever expose the woman Asuelu cheated with, but Kalani rejected the idea. She said, “No, I would never expose that person. If they choose to do that, that is their business.” The 90 Day Fiancé star added that Asuelu lied about being single, so it wasn’t the woman’s fault. Kalani concluded her message by warning the woman. She added, “ Babe, please take that sh*t to the f—king grave. Don’t ever expose yourself. Don’t tell anyone it was you. The internet is a very mean place.”
Based on their respective social media activities, it seems they’re not still together, as Asuelu seems to be enjoying solo travel and was even spotted getting cuddly with fellow co-star Winter Everett. Meanwhile, Kalani has been enjoying life in Orange County.
Are Molly and Kelly still together?
Are Molly and Kelly still together from 90 Day Fiance: The Last Resort ? The pair called it quits for good during the October 2 2023 episode. Molly and Kelly acknowledged they weren’t on the same page and admitted they had several frustrations with each other. “I appreciate everything the retreat has done for me, but Molly and I didn’t stand a chance,” Kelly said after they decided to go their separate ways.
Molly and Kelly’s romance started on 90 Day: The Single Life . Unfortunately, they’ve reached a point where they struggle to communicate. After a few short months of living together in Georgia, Molly and Kelly separated and are questioning if they really know each other at all.
“Close to Thanksgiving 2022, Molly decided it was best for her to end her relationship with Kelly due to unhealthy stressors, challenges, and odd aggressive behavior,” Molly’s manager, Dominique Enchinton, owner of Dominton Talent House, told InTouch in February 2023. “Many of these concerns were becoming more visible and frequent privately and during public appearances. These concerns began shortly after Kelly’s retirement and his relocation to Georgia to be near Molly.”
With that knowledge, it’s fair to wonder why they’re on 90 Day: The Last Resort if they’ve been broken up for almost a year at this point. On July 3, 2023, a warrant was out for Kelly’s arrest o following the physical altercation. “Simple battery/physical harm, battery, terroristic threats/acts and harassing communications,” were offenses listed against Kelly. Molly gave a statement where she said, “Olivia and I feel like justice has been served.” Molly gave a statement where she said, “Olivia and I feel like justice has been served.”
Despite this, they still believe there’s hope for reconciliation. “After a few short months of living together in Georgia, Molly and Kelly separated and are questioning if they really know each other at all. They actively work together to rekindle the romance,” TLC revealed.

Here's Which Couple Called It Quits for Good on 90 Day: The Last Resort
"Big" Ed Brown pushed his luck with girlfriend Liz Woods in a reveal that could make or break his friendships with the other '90 Day' couples
Kelly Wynne has been a TV writer at PEOPLE digital since 2021. Her work has been seen in Newsweek, where she acted as a reality TV and true-crime writer, Atwood Magazine and her mental health blog, The Chronically.
Paradise is growing further and further away for some couples on 90 Day: The Last Resort , while others are leaning into a future together.
Monday night’s episode saw Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi celebrate their third wedding anniversary beachside — at least for Angela — while Michael FaceTimed in for the occasion. Ed "Big Ed" Brown also shared one giant secret with Elizabeth "Liz" Woods , which could jeopardize the future of all relationships on the retreat.
Most importantly, though, two couples used therapy time to get to the heart of their relationship issues. There were even decisions on the line about if their love was strong enough to fight for. One couple ultimately decided their relationship had “run its course” and went home alone.
Here’s everything that happened as the couples retreat turned even more serious on Monday night.
Angela and Michael Come Together
It’s all happiness for Angela and Michael, who celebrated their three-year wedding anniversary in peace. The rare lack of conflict for the couple came as a comfort to them both as they spent some quality time one-on-one.
For Angela — who was sporting some braids inspired by "the Nigerian women I see over there" — the highlight of the date was virtual hip thrusts by Michael.
"I'm in public and you just made my cooter tingle," she told her husband.
Molly and Kelly Call It Quits
Molly Hopkins and Kelly Brown ’s poolside argument from last week’s episode was the topic of their last therapy session together. Both members of the couple expressed confusion at how their relationship unfolded in real life — especially after Kelly moved to Georgia to live with Molly. What’s left in their wake is a list of unmet expectations and uncommunicated needs.
"We're not on the same page. What I want in a relationship is not there," Kelly said in the session.
The therapist asked an important question: “Do you think this relationship has run its course?”
Molly was first to answer, with an “I do.” Kelly replied next, “I think it did." The pair were in agreement: it’s time to end the relationship for good.
Though Molly and Kelly’s breakup brought emotion for both of them, they left with no animosity. "I just want you to know that I'm sorry for whatever you needed from me that I didn't give you,” Molly said.
Kelly responded with a similar note. “I feel the same way too. I'm sorry I didn't get to the point of [being] the man that you wanted me to be. I tried my best."
As Kelly left the resort in a black limousine, a la The Bachelor , he reflected on his expired love story. "Molly and I didn't stand a chance. I thought we could put in a little more work, but she wasn't real,” he said.
Kalani and Asuelu Face Their Betrayals
It’s not couple’s therapy for Kalani and Asuelu, rather family therapy with Kalani Faagata ’s sister, Kolini. The sister is the only person who knows the depth of Asuelu Pulaa ’s cheating — which Kalani states is upwards of 10 or 12 times. “Hearing myself say that, I'm just disgusted with myself,” Kalani said.
Kolini had strong emotions surrounding the infidelity. “Every time that I heard that Asuleu had cheated on my sister, just watching how much it hurt her was horrible for me,” Kolini said. “Being in the relationship is hard, but having that person that's supposed to be there for you and not hurt you, having that person be the one to hurt you and take advantage of your love is the worst heartbreak, and for her to experience that over and over and over again, I wouldn't wish it on anybody, but especially my sister."
Asulelu was apologetic for his past behaviors, and tied it to his cultural understanding of relationships. “My parents didn't [teach] me. I didn't have all of this experience," he said.
Kalani expanded on his point saying in Samoa, even married family members and friends of Asuelu would hit on her because infidelity was normal.
"I feel like she deserve better than me," Asuelu told the therapist. "I feel embarrassed of myself that I make a lot of mistakes of myself that I didn't know that. It's really bad."
Kalani was happy to hear Asuelu understood the pain he’s caused, but feared “it’s just too late now” for the revelation he’s had about their relationship. Asuelu was ready to fight, though. “I realize that this lady here mean the world with [sic] me,” he told cameras. “I realize I love her more than anything."
Ed Rats Out the Boys to Liz
Ed and Liz threw their love to the sharks on Monday’s episode, with a sweet aquarium date away from their TLC friends. It was there that Ed decided to spill the men's big secret — a strip club outing in the works, which Ed was let in on last. The reason he was kept in the dark? The other men feared he’d tell Liz.
Well, he did. And now there’s trouble brewing on the horizon for the other men. That’s because Liz felt caught in the middle, and is now contemplating telling the other women about their partners' potential betrayal. For Ed and Liz, though, it’s bonding. "You've earned my trust,” Liz said.
And there’s no worries about Ed stepping out on his relationship, either. Even if the boys night out is on, Ed said he's staying home. "I"m not gonna get in trouble with you,” he said. “I'm not going. I'm 57 years old, I don't need to be looking at t— and stuff. I like your boobs."

TLC revealed two couples from 90 Day: The Last Resort — Here’s who to expect
TLC is still teasing the newest spinoff 90 Day: The Last Resort , and they just revealed the first two couples.
The new show will feature five familiar pairs from the franchise who are at their breaking point and making one final attempt to fix their relationship.
The aim of bringing these five couples together is for them to try and fix their multitude of issues such as intimacy, sex, jealousy, and trust, to name a few.
The men and women have a team of professionals at their disposal as they engage in couples sessions, intense group therapies, and lots of activities on and off the resort.
At the end of the retreat, the troubled couples must decide if they will stay together or end their relationships for good.
TLC recently posted a teaser for the show, and while Monsters and Critics already spilled the tea on all the couples , now two of them have been confirmed.
Yara Zaya and Jovi Dufren are one of the couples on 90 Day: The Last Resort
We’ve seen some of the issues between Yara Zaya and Jovi Dufren play out on 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? But the couple has more issues to work on in their marriage than we even realized.
The description for their storyline is that resentment has grown between the pair over the past few years.
“At the resort, they discover there is discord between them as they can’t seem to agree on what they want for their future. While both have secrets they are holding onto, will the resort provide a place and time where they can finally thrive and reconnect as a couple moving forward?”
Big Ed and Liz Woods are on the 90 Day Fiance spinoff
The second couple is Liz Woods and Big Ed Brown , whose relationship has been rocky from the very start.
We’ve witnessed their messy breakups and make-ups on social media, and now they’re hoping to address their issues.
Ed and Liz will have to work on their trust issues before taking the next step in their relationship.
“They are hoping to break down barriers and rebuild towards a new life…which holds the possibility of a new home and a potential wedding. Can Ed and Liz learn to back each other up and really communicate their needs to each other or will more indiscretions derail their efforts to plan for the future?”
90 DAY: The Last Resort premieres Monday, August 14th at 9/8c on TLC.
‘The Last Resort’ Interrogates the Beach While Enjoying It
In her new book, Sarah Stodola tours seaside resorts and catalogs some of the damage they can do.

THE LAST RESORT A Chronicle of Paradise, Profit, and Peril at the Beach By Sarah Stodola Illustrated. 341 pages. Ecco. $27.99.
Publishing a book about beaches in the season of the “beach read” is a bold and meta move, like when Kramer made a coffee-table book about coffee tables on “Seinfeld.”
The conventional wisdom is that readers want something light and unchallenging for their summer vacations, something they don’t mind smudging with Coppertone and leaving behind at the rental house. Sarah Stodola’s “The Last Resort,” its title echoing Cleveland Amory’s classic about high-society playgrounds, is definitely not that kind of book. Indeed it aims, in well-intentioned, widely researched and somewhat scattershot fashion, to make you profoundly uneasy about the very act of visiting the beach.
Why are you even going, anyway? For much of human history, Stodola reminds us, the seaside was considered a deeply uncomfortable and perilous place. In the 18th century, dubious seawater “cures” — like flushing the eyes or repeated dunking — were promoted in the West. But beaches were long tolerated rather than enjoyed, resorts there a lower-altitude parallel to the kind of sanitarium in Thomas Mann’s “The Magic Mountain.” They also feature in literature and movies, probably more than mountains do: Mann’s “Death in Venice” and F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “Tender Is the Night” flash immediately before the eyes. “Splash.” “Jaws.”
The beach, rebranded by Hollywood and real estate developers as an adult playground — it makes a great set, in art and life — nonetheless still carries a vague sense of impending danger. The sharks might be circling. The merciless sun beats down. The big wave could hit. And even before Covid, the tourism trade was vulnerable to outbreaks of disease and violence. “It’s one of the few industries,” Stodola writes, that requires its consumers “to show up in person to the place of manufacture.” And those consumers are fickle; their idea of “paradise,” denoted by palm trees and cocktail paper umbrellas, all too portable.
The biggest danger, Stodola darkly intones, throwing down plenty of statistics, is humans themselves. They overdevelop, recklessly dump plastic and commit great violence to delicate marine ecosystems. The earth is warming; sea levels are rising and established shorelines are being reshaped when they’re not disappearing entirely. And yet many travelers persist in pouting only about the immediate forecast. “There’s a thing about any extreme weather event being dismissible as a freak occurrence,” Stodola writes, “and then there’s our current deluge of extreme weather events that makes it harder to ignore that the center is not holding, to borrow a phrase from Didion, who borrowed it from Yeats.”
There’s a lot of borrowing in “The Last Resort,” and the bibliography may divert you quickly to the more focused histories Stodola consulted, like Mark Braude’s “Making Monte Carlo.” Her glancing forays into race relations brought to mind Russ Rymer’s more substantive “American Beach: A Saga of Race, Wealth, and Memory.”
Stodola, whose previous book was “Process: The Writing Lives of Great Authors,” and whose own writing life includes some amount of luxury travel (she founded and edits an online magazine called Flung ), does fruitfully dig up a 1980 essay by a geographer named R.W. Butler. In “The Concept of a Tourist Area Cycle Evolution: Implications for Management of Resources,” Butler identified half a dozen stages, Kübler-Ross-like, in a resort’s life cycle, including Stagnation, Decline and possibly Rejuvenation. (“Tulum today is textbook Consolidation Stage,” Stodola writes of the Mexico municipality, which has become clogged with sargassum and hipsters.) She does a good back-and-forth analysis of why Bali, Indonesia, has become a major destination while nearby Nias has struggled.
Still, you have to chuckle when a little girl among a group of village children solicits a photograph from Stodola’s partner, Scott, and then one of the children holds up a middle finger just as he’s taking the shot. This critic didn’t feel quite that level of hostility, but the disorienting number of places Stodola alights, the number of vegan dishes and drinks she reports ordering, some at swim-up bars — an old-fashioned on the terrace of the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc in Antibes, France; Absolut and juice at the Naviti Resort in Fiji; “a totally decent glass of wine in Cancun” (which she deems in Stagnation Stage) — does make one scratch the head about what this book proposes to be, exactly; it tends to seem more last hurrah than last resort. “A nuanced understanding of the beach resort industry where none currently exists,” is what Stodola is attempting, while acknowledging that the carbon offsets she bought for all her long-haul flights “is not enough to rationalize the emissions.”
Mea Acapulco! (Where she enjoyed a melting frozen margarita at the El Mirador.)
Anyway, it’s time to retire the term beach read. We can do it here, now. “Read” (like “invite”) is better as a verb, and summer is precisely the season when readers should be “digging deep,” building castles in the air as well as the sand.

'90 Day: The Last Resort' Russ & Paola First Couple On Season 2?
90 Day Fiance The Last Resort was a big hit with viewers when TLC debuted the first season. With the spinoff coming back for another season, are Russ Mayfield and Paola Mayfield the first confirmed couple?
90 Day Fiance: The Last Resort A Big Hit With Fans
No matter what 90 Day Fiance spinoff viewers talk about, all the trash and all the drama will come. With The Last Resort , that drama increases exponentially. This TLC spinoff brings together the most dramatic couples from the franchise as their relationships are on the brink.
Last season, 90 Day Fiance fans saw couples like Molly Hopkins and Kelly Brown, Big Ed Brown and Liz Woods, Asuelu Pulaa and Kalani Faagata, and more. These couples bring enough drama by themselves. So, when you get them all in the same resort, the powder keg is guaranteed to blow, and fans are here for it.
What Do We Know So Far About The Last Resort Season 2?
After what a train wreck Season 1 of The Last Resort was, 90 Day Fiance fans are eager to know more about Season 2. Back in November 2023, TLC put out a casting call for coaches and therapists. They didn’t reveal the specific show. However, it seems plausible that TLC is casting new people to help troubled couples with their relationships for The Last Resort Season 2.
Following the timeline of the first season, speculation suggests that the new season could have begun filming as soon as December 2023/January 2024, with a potential air date being around August/September 2024. Nothing is official yet, but it’s a no-brainer to want to bring this spinoff back.
Are Russ Mayfield And Paola Mayfield The First Couple On Season 2?
There’s a lot of The Last Resort Season 2 speculation going on at the moment. One working theory is that Russ Mayfield and Paola Mayfield are the first pair joining the cast of the second season of the spinoff. These two have faced a lot of split speculation in their years together, and Pao is quite the firecracker. It would make sense to bring these two on.
Paola Mayfield recently teased her 90 Day Fiance fans with a “new show” she did “coming up this year.” Paola didn’t spill the beans as to which show it would be, however, with as much drama as she and Russ have had in their marriage over the years, it lines up that they’ll be on The Last Resort Season 2.
Since they haven’t been in the 90 Day Fiance spotlight as much, this move makes sense from a business standpoint as well. Many viewers would agree that Russ and Pao are the type to fake drama to get more airtime, and being on a new season is the perfect opportunity to do that.

90 Day: The Last Resort contains some of the biggest revelations in the franchise's history. The reality show premiered on August 14, 2023, featuring five pairs trying to improve their relationships through therapy. One of those couples is Big Ed Brown and Liz Woods, who have broken up nearly a dozen times in the last two years. They want to work on their differences and improve themselves to become more compatible. During episode 1, the pair admitted they aim to settle in Ed's hometown of Arkansas to take their relationship to the next level.
Yara Zaya and Jovi Dufren are another 90 Day: The Last Resort pair . While the two visibly have a healthy relationship and a beautiful family, they still have some issues that they need to work on. Yara has been in a tough situation due to being far from her family in Ukraine. She wants to live near her relatives, which has previously created issues between her and Jovi. The pair has an emotional gap, but there's some suggestion that they don't deserve to be on the show because their problems are relatively benign compared to other couples.

Kalani Admits Having Feelings For The Hall Pass Guy
The recent episode of the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off featured more chaotic situations between cast members. One of those moments happened when Kalani Faagata opened up to Asuelu Pulaa about having emotional feelings for the guy she slept with. The 35-year-old mom of two revealed that she took the hall pass to experience how it feels to be with another man because she had only ever been with her husband. She added, "But once I got to know this other person better, I ended up liking the other man." Asuelu was angry and upset at the revelation because he felt Kalani crossed the line by committing both emotional and physical cheating.
Yara Reveals Secret She Has Been Keeping From Jovi
Yara and Jovi may have a good marriage, but they also dropped some bombshells recently. The 28-year-old Ukrainian woman began by expressing that she had kept a secret from her husband. She said, "I've been taking birth control," letting Jovi know that she purposely hid it from him because he wants another baby, and she doesn't. Jovi was shocked by the revelation but didn't get too angry. He simply responded by asking, "I feel like that is something we should discuss instead of you going behind my back to do it."
Kelly & Big Ed Butt Heads
Ed and Kelly Brown didn't have a great time during the couple's race. The San Diego native called the New York cop a "b***h." Later, they regrouped in a jacuzzi, where things aggravated. During the scene, Kelly and Molly Hopkins jumped into the tub with Angela Deem, Liz, and Ed. While everything was initially fine, Ed began interrupting people. Kelly said, "Very extremely annoying when Ed interrupts everyone." As the situation worsened, Kelly eventually had enough of Ed. He got angry and asked him if he craved attention, which Molly supported. The whole thing then turned into a chaotic argument between 90 Day: The Last Resort cast members.

Skier dies after falling off cliff near Snowbasin Resort
By ryan aston - | feb 13, 2024.

WEBER COUNTY — A man is dead after an accident near Huntsville’s Snowbasin Resort on Monday, according to a statement from the resort.
Per the release, the skier had left the resort’s boundaries to access out-of-bounds terrain. The man, who hasn’t been publicly identified, was later found unconscious just inside the resort’s property as a result of the accident.
Snowbasin Ski Patrol arrived on the scene first, providing emergency medical aid and awaiting helicopter transport for the individual, who was a guest at the resort. Crews from the Weber Fire District and the Weber County Sheriff’s Office also participated in the rescue effort.
Weber Fire District Battalion Chief Casey Naef told the Standard-Examiner that the accident was reported to the agency at around 1:30 p.m. Monday.
“We made patient contact, stabilized the patient and helped the medical crew off the helicopter and getting packaged for transport,” Naef told the Standard-Examiner.
The skier was taken to a local hospital in extremely critical condition before reportedly dying due to his injuries. According to a KSL report , the man had fallen from a 100-foot cliff while exploring the backcountry near the resort before being found on the John Paul ski run.
According to Naef, the agency receives “a few calls per day” on ski accidents at local resorts during winter months. He further noted that the extreme nature of the terrain can make it difficult to coordinate rescue efforts.
“Being on the mountain, trying to get coordinates for the helicopter, and then communicating with ski patrol and the helicopter and fire crews — just getting everybody on the same page — is a little bit difficult, but we managed,” Naef said.
The resort acknowledged those who were involved in and/or affected by the incident in its statement.
“Snowbasin regrets to report that a guest passed away following an accident exploring extreme backcountry terrain on Monday, February 12,” the statement read, in part. “We offer our deepest condolences to the guest’s family, friends and all involved.”
Editor’s note: This story has been updated to correct the name of the Weber Fire District official who spoke to the Standard-Examiner.

'Use of force should be last resort': High Court on farmers' protest
The punjab and haryana high court was hearing two petitions around the farmers' protest at the borders of delhi, punjab and haryana..
Listen to Story
- Punjab and Haryana High Court urges amicable resolution to farmers' protest
- Protesters' right to expression and citizens' protection must be balanced
- Farmers associations called for protest demanding law for Minimum Support Price
The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday remarked on the farmers' protest that the issue should be resolved amicably and the use of force should be the last resort.
A bench of Chief Justice GS Sandhawalia and Justice Lapita Banerji was hearing two petitions around the farmers' protest at the borders of Delhi, Punjab and Haryana .
One of the petitions assailed the Haryana government's decision to block the roads preventing protesters from entering Delhi. The other petition argued that the farmers blocking the national highways affect the people and their daily operations.
The court noted that while the protesters have the fundamental right to expression, the state government is also duty-bound to protect its citizens and ensure no inconvenience is caused to them.
"There has to be balance in the fundamental right to speech and expression. None of the rights are in isolation. The cautionary should be kept in mind and the issue should be resolved amicably. All parties in the present dispute should make efforts to sit down and solve the problem and the area should be identified by states to protest," the bench observed.
Several farmers associations, mostly from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab, called for a protest on February 13 to demand a law guaranteeing Minimum Support Price (MSP).
On Tuesday morning, farmers started heading towards the national capital from different villages of Punjab and Haryana on their tractor-trolleys, loaded with dry rations, water-proof sheets and mattresses.
The court also issued notices to the Centre and governments in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, asking them to determine sites for protests.
