Are you getting a "Mobile network not available" error on your Android phone? Don't worry because there are a few simple tricks you can try to solve this! This wikiHow article lists a few different tricks that you can use to fix the "Mobile network not available" error.
Things You Should Know
- There are a variety of reasons why you'd get the "Mobile network not available" error including glitches in your settings, tower service, or billing issues.
- The easiest, fastest, and most reliable fix is to turn on and off Airplane Mode on your Android and then restart it.
- Take out, clean, and reinsert your SIM card to refresh that connection.
- Go to Settings > Network & internet/Connection & sharing > Airplane Mode and tap the switch to toggle it on and off again. You can also swipe down from the top of your screen and tap the airplane icon. [2] X Research source
- To restart your phone , press and hold the Volume Down and Power button for about 10-20 seconds or until your phone shuts down (the screen will be black). Let go of those buttons, and you should see the Android logo as your phone restarts.
- Tip: Sometimes, turning your phone off rather than just restarting can do the trick. A restart will sometimes hold onto old info while a turn off/turn on will give the phone an actual full refresh.
- To remove your SIM card , turn off your phone, then use a small, pointy tool, like an unbent paperclip, to eject your SIM tray. After the tray is ejected, gently remove your SIM card, and clean it (wipe down the metallic surface with a disinfectant wipe or a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol). Reinsert it and turn your phone back on. [5] X Research source
- If your SIM looks really dirty or grimy, you may need to replace it .
- Updating is easy! Simply go to Settings > Software Update/About Phone > Download and Install . You phone will restart to apply the update. [7] X Research source
- To make sure that you get the update, connect to Wi-Fi instead of using mobile data, which gives you the error.
- To turn Data roaming off , go to Settings > Network & internet/Connections > Mobile Networks > Roaming and tap the switch to toggle it off. [8] X Research source
- To reset your network settings , go to Settings > System/General management > Reset > Reset WiFi, mobile & Bluetooth/Reset network settings > Reset settings . Your phone will restart with network settings reset to default. Try connecting to the internet again or making a phone call to see if you get the "Mobile network not available" error.
- To switch mobile network operators, go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Network operators > Automatic or Manual . If you're already on Automatic, pick Manual. If you're currently on Manual, pick Automatic.
- To change network types, dial *#*#4636#*#* and a new menu will appear. Tap Phone information > Run Ping Test and after you get that information, tap Set preferred network type and select either GSM, LTE, or LTE/UMTS options. If you still get the error, you can change which network type you're using. If none of them work for you, change it back to the default.
- You should first make a backup of your current Android's settings and files. To create a back up, go to Settings > Accounts & Backup > Back up Data > Back up now .
- To reset, go to Settings > General management > Reset > Factory data reset > Reset . Enter your PIN if prompted. [12] X Research source

30+ ways to solve Android mobile network problems at home
Although I tend to use Wi-Fi when available, there’s nothing more frustrating than not being able to make a phone call from my own home. Granted, due to my day job requirements, I now have a landline in addition to my mobile devices at home; I’d still prefer using my mobile phone above anything else.
Aside from having no signal, android mobile network problems can also be a lack of access to websites or online apps. The causes can range from having a simple system malfunction to having hardware problems with your signal receptor. The situation may appear dour, but I have some fixes.
If a stable Internet connection is more important to you than a stable relationship with other human beings, you’ve come to the right place. Whether the problem manifests itself as “ Phone Not Registered on Network “, “ Mobile Network Not Available “, or “No Signal Found” , I have solutions.
It’s a very common problem, and I have solutions that worked for me that I would love to share with you.
Start Simple
Fix sim errors, no signal fixes, intermediate troubleshooting, last options, list of android mobile network problems solutions.
There’s an acronym—KISS—(that stands for Keep It Simple Stupid) that might apply here. The solution to this problem can be simple, and you don’t need to be tech-savvy to fix it.
These general steps apply to all types of Android devices, regardless of make/model. These specific steps that describe how to carry out these actions are examples, since the exact process may vary by device. Try these tips if you have no network at all or a weak signal.
1. Restart your device
The simplest things can be the most rewarding. If you haven’t restarted your device in a long time, I advise you to do so. On most devices, you can simply long-press the Power button.
After restarting the device, see if it worked for you. Restarting your device clears any malfunctioning system processes.
2. Grip the phone lightly
It’s been a long time since Apple’s AntennaGate, but holding your device too firmly in the vicinity of the antenna can lessen the signal. Older phones and models aren’t as well made and fully functional as the new ones.
3. Ensure Airplane mode is OFF
Go to “Settings > More Settings > Flight Mode. “
You can also try toggling your airplane mode on and off because it refreshes your network connection.
4. Switch to 2G (Helps with phone calls only)
Switching to 2G can help to boost your signal, but it has the opposite effect on Internet performance and speed.
5. Make sure your device is fully charged
When your battery is too low, your phone prioritizes staying alive which may affect your phone’s system processes. Observe if you still have problems with your phone when it’s fully charged.
6. Make sure your device isn’t in Power Savings Mode
Go to “Apps > Settings > Battery.” Depending on the device, it may also be called “ Battery Saver ” or “ STAMINA Mode. “
The Power Savings mode can affect your phone’s signal. Turn it off and see if it makes any difference.
7. Map your home’s signal
Take a stroll through your house and note the signal strength in different locations. Specific locations inside your house can affect the reach of any signal to your device.
Note : The bars that you see are not the most accurate representation of your signal.
8. Clear any obstructions you can
There’s not a lot you can do about hills or trees blocking the signal. However, going outside or near a window can help you get a better signal. If you’re in a rural area however, it might be harder for you to get any signal, especially if there aren’t any cell towers nearby.
9. Get some signal boosters
Signal boosters are pretty easy to set up and use if you are willing to spare some cash. They’re gadgets (also known as repeaters) that takes a signal and strengthens it.
Although if you don’t get good service in your yard, it probably won’t be of much use to you.
The SIM card is often at the heart of the matter when it comes to mobile network problems. Therefore, we are going to take extra care in ruling out its culpability.
1. Reboot your device
Turn your Android off, then switch it back on. If you’ve just inserted a new SIM, many phones won’t even recognize it until you restart the device. This is probably the simplest way to resolve minor problems of any kind when it comes to your Android.
2. Adjust your SIM card
The SIM card must be seated in your Android properly. Your SIM card is what connects you to your network , so this is crucial. If you’ve dropped your Android, the SIM can become misaligned, or it may not have been installed properly, to begin with. Ensure that the SIM is secured in its tray.
If the SIM isn’t fitting well, you can place tape, cardboard, paper, and etc into the tray for a tighter fit. Although this seems like a cheap way to fix your SIM’s connection (and that’s because it is), it also works for many. Be careful though, never use much force on the delicate parts inside your phone.
3. Replace your SIM card
If the SIM is defective or damaged, it needs to be replaced.
4. Remove and reinsert SIM card
Make sure you turn off your device before installing or removing SIM cards—otherwise you may harm your device and/or card. Take care not to scratch or bend the SIM card. Some devices have the SIM tray is located directly beside the volume buttons. For other devices, you can access the SIM by sliding off the back cover and removing the battery.
5. Consider relocating
Does this happen everywhere? Is it constant, or intermittent? Carrier service must be available where you’re located in order for your SIM to work.
Are you next to people with the same provider who have service? What about people in a different area? Reliability is influenced by how close you are to the towers.
6. Call Customer Service
Contact your carrier regarding your SIM. Having your SIM card replaced by your carrier can also be a solution.
7. Reset your network settings
This will clear your network settings back to their defaults. Go to “Settings > Backup & Reset > Network settings reset. “
When there’s no signal at all, the situation seems hopeless. It’s not often something that can be fixed by going upstairs. But the bright side to this is that once we do fix it, it’s probably less likely to be a recurrent problem.
1. Try a FEMTOCELL as an alternative
FEMTOCELLs are devices that convert landline Internet to a cellular signal. If your location doesn’t have any cell reception, using a FEMTOCELL is a great option.
2. Use Wi-Fi as an alternative
You can use VOIP or Wi-Fi calling instead of your mobile network . You could also opt for online messaging services such as Facebook’s Messenger and many other free messaging services.
3. Forward calls to a different number
You can forward your calls and messages to a different number that has signal for emergency purposes.
Open your Android’s phone app. Go to “Menu > Settings or Call Settings > Call Forwarding. “
4. Switch carriers
Use a service like Open Signal to research carrier service for your location. Choose a carrier that’s prominent in your location.
Download Open Signal
While these steps aren’t your basic reboot, and you probably don’t do these things on a regular basis, they are still tasks that most users will be able to accomplish without too much difficulty.
1. Manually choose your Network Operator settings
Go to “ Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks .” The automatic setting is set to select the fastest network available, but not necessarily the one with the strongest signal. Also, if the fastest network isn’t stable, your Android will switch back and forth. The WCDMA or GSM selections may provide a stronger, more stable signal.
2. Map your home’s signal
Take a stroll through your house and note the signal strength in different locations. But instead of looking at the signal bars, use a more accurate measurement. To do this, go to “ Settings > About Phone > Network > Signal Strength or Network Type and Strength .” Signal strength is expressed as a negative number in dBm (decibels), with -60 dBm being ideal.
3. Test your radio signal broadcast
This option isn’t present on all Android devices. Obviously, the following method will work if it is. Dial *#*#4636*#*# from your Android. From the Testing menu that pops up, go to Phone “Information > Run Ping Test ” or, toggle the radio by selecting “Turn Off Radio” , then “Turn On Radio .”
4. Check your phone for a corrupt IMEI
Dial “ *#06# ” to see the IMEI of your device. If the result you receive instead is Null, the IMEI could be your problem. Certain numerical IMEIs can also indicate that it’s corrupt. This can be restored by going into Engineer Mode. To get there, either dial “ *#*#3646633#*#* ” or download the app below.
Navigate to the Connectivity tab.
- Click on CDS Information.
- Select Radio Information.
- If you have dual SIMs, you will see both Phone 1 and Phone 2.
- Under Phone 1, insert the following command: AT +EGMR=1,7, “IMEI1” and tap on Send at Command.
- Under Phone 2, insert: AT +EGMR=1,10, “IMEI2” , then reboot.
Download MTK Engineering Mode
5. Update your APN settings
Tap on “ Settings > Mobile Networks (or Wireless Networks) > Access Point Names.” Add the APN settings from your carrier’s website and select them. If your APN protocol is set to IPV6, change it to IPV4.
6. Update your phone
Just in case you missed an available software update , go to “Settings > About device > Software Update > Check for update. “
If you’ve tried everything and nothing seems to work, give these steps a shot.
1. Do a factory reset
Go to “ Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory data reset . “
Doing a factory reset on your phone reverts it to its original state. If everything else fails, you can try resetting your phone.
2. Flash a new firmware
We aren’t talking about a mere software upgrade here—we’re talking about manually changing your phone’s operating system—a feat that requires your device to be rooted, or at the very least an unlocked bootloader. You also need to install a custom recovery, like TWRP. You’ll also need the new ROM itself; also known as the factory or custom image. Be sure to select a ROM well-suited for your device .
3. Contact your network operator
You can visit your provider’s website, a website like downdetector.com , or call your network provider directly to determine if a service is out in your area.
4. Turn on roaming
Obviously you shouldn’t have to turn on roaming in your own home. If this works, it’s only a temporary solution, and is further evidence that there’s a problem with your device.
5. Pay a visit to the service center
It’s highly possible for your phone to have hardware damages if you constantly have no signal despite other devices having them. It’s best to get your phone serviced by professionals.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do i have poor signal at home.
It can either be because of poor network connections or a worn-out signal receptor on your phone. If you used to have a cell signal on your device, a broken cell receptor is a likely cause.
How do I refresh my signal?
Toggle Airplane mode on and off. This process resets your cell signal and refreshes your connection.
Final thoughts
I used to work in a building that was built pretty much like a bomb shelter. So most of the time it was hard for me to get any signal anywhere in our building. Obstructions (tall buildings can do it too) can make it difficult for you to have proper cell reception; so make sure you’ve tried going outside, upstairs by a window, etc. A change in carrier might help too.
Also, don’t be afraid of getting your phone serviced. There isn’t a quick fix for everything. I understand the need for you to be able to fix it yourself, but sometimes there are problems that you can’t solve just by browsing the net for quick fixes.

Hello! Hope you’re doing good. For cases like this, the main problem is a weak signal. You can change to a different network provider or you can get a signal booster. Check out the best signal boosters for remote areas . If you think that the listed signal boosters there do not suit you, check the Cell Phone Signal Boosters of All Types and determine which environment best describe your area to get the appropriate signal booster.
My uncle’s house is located in place surrounded by lots of coconut trees And the reception is very bad inside the house and there’s one or two points outside the house. No matter the network provider, the case is the same. They use sun direct (DTH) which is fitted on the roof which works fine. So are there devices (if mounted on a pole or a long bamboo stick on the roof) that receives signal and by wire sends the signal down a transmitter inside the house so that each room becomes internet usable? please recommend devices (willing to spend some cash)

Top 10 Tricks to Solve Network Problem in Mobile Phone
Experiencing weak signals or "network not available" error in your mobile? Here're the Top 10 tricks to solve network problem in your mobile phone.
It happens many times we face weak signals or “Network Not Available” errors in our mobile phone, and especially when you’re connecting an important phone call, this problem irritates us a lot. But, actually, by applying some easy tricks weak network problems can be solved in just a few seconds.
So, via this post, I’m sharing 10 of the most effective tricks to solve network problems or weak signal strength in mobile phones .
I’m sure these tricks will help you get your lost mobile signals back as I tried almost all of these tricks on my Android smartphone, and also suggested them to some of my friends who later praised them.
Here’s How to Solve Network Problems in Mobile Phone
There can be many reasons for network not available errors. It not only happens because you’re out of the coverage area but sometimes it happens even when you’re in the network area.
So, if you’re facing weak signals on your mobile phone or getting network not available error, try out the following tips to solve network problem on your mobile.
Trick#1: Change Network Mode to GSM Only
If you’re having a weak signal problem in your Android phone, turning the network mode from 3G to 2G can improve the signal strength. I many times tried this trick, and it worked every time like a charm.
Apply the following steps to your Android smartphone:
- Go to Settings and open Wireless and Network settings.
- Now tap on Mobile Networks .
- Tap Network Mode .
- Select GSM only (2G Only) or WCDMA/GSM (3G/2G Auto) by removing the WCDMA only (3G Only) mode.
Note: The WCDMA Only mode is to attract only 3G networks while GSM only mode is to attract the 2G signals. And if you choose WCDMA/GSM, the phone will automatically attract the best possible signals.
Trick #2: Turn on the Data Roaming Option
If you’re unable to connect to the Internet due to weak mobile signals or network not available error, turn on the data roaming option. Mostly this option works when you’re traveling and often going in and out around roaming areas.
To turn it on:
- Tap on Mobile Networks .
- Now, tap the Data Roaming option.
This will let you connect with the Internet even when you’re in the roaming area by finding the best possible networks for you.
Trick #3: Reinsert Phone Battery & SIM Card
The poor signal strength and network not available error can be solved by reinserting the phone battery and SIM card. It sometimes happens due to technical issues in your mobile phone.
So, do the following:
- Switch off your smartphone.
- Remove the battery.
- Remove the SIM card.
- Wait for 2 minutes.
- Reinsert the SIM card and battery.
- Wait for 5 Minutes.
- Switch on the smartphone.
In most cases, simply rebooting the device fixes most problems, even network errors. This is because a mobile phone doesn’t always connect to the nearest phone tower so restarting a phone can help to reset the connection to a tower that is closer.
Trick #4: Automatically Select Preferred Network
Letting the phone select the preferred network automatically can also solve network problems in most cases. So, you set “Manually Select Preferred Network”, and then change it to “Automatically Select Preferred Network” in your mobile phone settings.
- Go to Wireless and Network Settings.
- Select Network Operators .
- Select it to Automatically .
- It’s done!
Automatic is however the default setting for the Network Operators which instructs your mobile to automatically connect to the strongest network signal available. As you move, the handset will continually monitor the available networks, and keep you connected to the strongest one.
Trick #5: Pick it Lightly & Remove the Cover
Holding the mobile phone with tight hands adds another layer that restricts networks from reaching the phone. So, hold the phone lightly.
Removing the smartphone cover can also help you boost signal strength. If you’re facing poor signals in your phone, you should first remove the phone cover. The signal strength should improve.
Trick #6: Change the Phone Holding Grip
According to my own experience, mobile phone experts and some biggest mobile companies admit that changing the phone holding grip can improve signal strength effectively.
Just be careful of avoiding gripping that part of your phone where the antenna is located. So, if you’re not getting good signals during a phone call, you should instantly change your holding grip.
Alternatively, you can also use the hands-free mode or use earphones to avoid having to grip your phone during any phone call.
Trick #7: Open the Window & Find Nearest Towers
As we all know the closer you’re to the mobile network tower, the stronger your signal will be. But, mobile phones don’t always connect to the nearest tower.
If you can find out your nearest mobile tower and the one your phone is connected to, you can point your phone in the direction of the tower you’re connected to.
You can use mobile apps like OpenSignal to plot a map of your nearby towers. The apps like OpenSignal will be proven helpful to find out the nearest tower and the one your phone is connected to.
Track# 8: Make Phone Calls Using Wi-Fi Signals
If even after trying all the above methods it’s still very hard to get signals in your phone, you should try making phone calls using WiFi.
If you have a WiFi router connected to the broadband connection at your home, you can turn on this feature from your WiFi router to make phone calls and send messages over WiFi networks without needing to worry about mobile signals.
Receive Landline Calls on Your Mobile Phone Using Voice Bridge
Trick# 9: Install a Mobile Phone Signal Booster
Mobile phone signal boosters find out the outdoor signals, amplify them, and broadcast to a space that is receiving weak or no signal.
So, if your home or office is out of coverage area , you should install a cell phone signal booster. These third-party gadgets are also known as repeaters .
Trick #10: Try Factory Reset Your Mobile Phone
If none of the above methods work for you and even the signal booster isn’t boosting signal strength, it might be due to a technical problem with your phone.
Simply doing a factory reset can fix most problems of the smartphone. So, you should try the factory reset your mobile phone.
For Android smartphones, follow the steps below:
- First, take a backup of your data.
- Go to Settings & tap the Backup and Reset option.
- Now tap on Factory Data Reset and then finally tap Reset Device .
I’m sure if nothing worked, a factory reset will definitely work for you. Just give it a try, and I hope your mobile phone will again start getting good signals.
That’s all! Let me know how did you find these 10 tricks to boost signal strength and solve network problems. Did they help you get your phone signals back?
How did you boost your mobile phone signal strength? Which trick worked for you perfectly? Do share your experience and thoughts with other readers!

8 Easy-to-Do Ways to Troubleshoot Network Connection
You'll be up and running in no time
A faulty Wi-Fi connection doesn’t have to ruin your day. There are plenty of ways you can restore a lost internet connection. Follow these network troubleshooting tips and you’ll be up and running in no time.
1. Check Your Settings
First, check your Wi-Fi settings. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi . Switch Wi-Fi to the On position.
Phones and tablets also have settings that turn Wi-Fi on and off. Make sure that it is turned on so you can connect to the network.
You also want to check if Airplane Mode is turned on.
2. Check Your Access Points
Check your WAN (wide area network) and LAN (local area network) connections. In layman’s terms, these are the Ethernet cables that go to and from your router.
If you suspect that the cables are the culprit, try swapping them out with new ones.
3. Go Around Obstacles
Walls, furniture, and other obstructions can be the reason why you’re unable to go online. Moving closer to the router can re-establish the connection. If moving closer to the router does not solve the issue, then at least we can remove it from the list of suspects.
4. Restart the Router
Sometimes restarting the router can help fix connectivity issues. This is even truer in cases where the router has not been turned off in a while. A quick restart can jolt the router back into working like it used to.
If that doesn’t work, you might also consider resetting the router. But only do so if you’re okay with it being restored to its factory settings. You will have to reconfigure everything including the SSID and password.
5. Check the Wi-Fi Name and Password
Check the network name (otherwise known as SSID) and password of the network connection. If you’re used to connecting automatically when in range of a router but are no longer able to, changes may have been made to the network while you’re away.
It could be as simple as administrators updating the password or the SSID could have been changed to a different one.
6. Check DHCP Settings
Routers are usually set up as DHCP servers. This setting lets computers join a network automatically. With DHCP turned on, users will no longer have to mess with IP Address and DNS Server settings manually.
To edit your DHCP settings, go to Windows Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi . Under Wi-Fi , click Manage Known Networks . Select a network and click Properties .
Under IP Settings , click Edit . From the drop-down menu, select Automatic (DHCP) .
Note: Selecting Manual will let you set your DNS Server Address and IP Address settings manually.
7. Update Windows
Your network problems could be caused by your system. If that is the case, Windows could have possibly released a fix. Try updating your Windows machine to the latest release.
Go to Windows Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update . Click Check for Updates . If there are updates available, Windows will download and install them.
8. Open Windows Network Diagnostics
Windows has a tool called Windows Network Diagnostics that lets users troubleshoot connection issues.
Go to Windows Settings > Network & Internet > Status . Under Change Your Network Settings , click Network Troubleshooter .
Windows Network Diagnostics will run a couple of tests to see what’s possibly causing your Wi-Fi issues.
Windows will let you know if it does not find any issue. Otherwise, you will be given a list of possible actions to take to resolve the problem.
This tool, or a version of it, should be available in Windows 7 to Windows 10.

Top 14 Ways to Fix Mobile Data Not Working on Android
Your smartphone is hardly any good when it’s not connected to the internet. When Wi-Fi isn’t available , you may need to rely on mobile data to access the internet and use your favorite apps. But what if the mobile data (or cellular data) on your Android stops working and gets finicky?
Troubleshooting such issues can be difficult if you don’t know where to start. To help out, we’ve listed all the possible solutions for fixing the mobile data not working issue on your Android. So, let’s take a look.
1. Check Your Data Plan
Before you begin troubleshooting, ensure that your data plan is active. If you have a cellular data plan that caps your data usage after a certain amount of usage, mobile data will stop working once you reach your data limit. Hence, it’s the first thing you should check.
2. Turn Off Wi-Fi
If your phone is connected to Wi-Fi, it will continue to send and receive data via the network rather than your mobile data connection. It’s best to turn off Wi-Fi on your phone if you only want to use mobile data.
Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the Quick Settings panel and tap the Wi-Fi icon to turn it off.
3. Toggle Airplane Mode
Toggling the Airplane mode is a neat way to refresh all the network connections on your Android. It can potentially fix any minor network-related glitches. To enable Airplane mode on your phone, open the Settings app and navigate to Connections. Turn on the toggle next to Airplane mode and turn it off after a minute or so.
4. Restart Your Phone
Restarting your phone is a classic troubleshooting tip that can help with a variety of issues, including this one. If it’s just a temporary glitch that’s preventing your Android from using mobile data, this should help.
Press and hold the power button for a few seconds and tap the Restart option to reboot your phone.
5. Remove and Re-insert SIM
Next, you should try removing your SIM card and inserting it again. While you’re at it, make sure to inspect your SIM card for any damage. If possible, try putting your SIM card in another smartphone to see if there are any issues with the card. If the card is fine and the problem persists, move to other solutions.
6. Change Network Type
If your phone is set to a network mode that isn’t available in your region, mobile data won’t work. For instance, if you’re in a remote location where 5G isn’t available , you can change the network type to auto-connect by following the steps below.
Step 1: Launch Settings on your Android and go to Connections.
Step 2: Tap on Mobile networks.
Step 3: Tap on Network mode and select 5G/LTE/3G/2G (auto connect).
7. Remove Mobile Data Limit
Setting data usage limits on Android phones allows you to keep track of your internet usage . If you’ve previously enabled a data limit on your Android phone, it will stop using mobile data once that limit is reached. Here’s how to remove it.
Step 1: Open the Settings app, go to Connections, and select Mobile networks from the following screen.
Step 2: Tap on ‘Billing cycle and data warning’ and toggle off the switch next to Set data limit.
8. Reset APNs
APN (Access Point Name) carries important settings like IP addresses, gateway details, and such that help your Android connect to your carrier’s network. If there’s an issue with those settings, or if you’ve recently switched carriers or data plans, you might need to reset them.
Step 1: Open the Settings app, tap on Connections, and select Mobile networks from the following screen.
Step 2: Tap on Access Point Names.
Step 3: Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner and select Reset to default.
9. Configure APN Manually
If resetting the APN doesn’t work, you can try configuring the APN settings manually by following the steps below.
Step 3: Tap the Add option in the top right corner.
Step 4: Enter the information from your carrier in the fields provided and save your APN. Head back to the Access Point Names and select the newly created APN.
10. Reset Network Settings
Misconfigured network settings can lead to all kinds of network issues with Wi-Fi , Voicemail, mobile data, and so on. Resetting network settings can help you restore all the network-related settings to their default values, allowing you to start over.
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your Android and tap on General management.
Step 2: Scroll down to tap on Reset.
Step 3: Select Reset network settings and tap the Reset settings button in the following menu.
Follow the on-screen prompts to finish resetting the network settings and check if the issue is still there.
11. Install Android Updates
Issues with the current Android build on your phone could also cause the mobile data to stop working. Most of the time, you can resolve such issues by installing pending system updates.
Step 1: Open the Settings app and head over to Software update.
Step 2: Tap on Download and install.
Your phone will start checking for any pending updates and download them. Once updated, mobile data should work on your Android.
12. Wipe Cache Partition From Recovery
There’s a chance that the system cache data on your Android is corrupt, which is why mobile data is not working. So, if installing newer Android updates doesn’t help, try to wipe the cache partition on your Android and see if that helps. Here are the steps for the same.
Step 1: Power off your device by holding the power button.
Step 2: Press and hold the power button and the volume down button simultaneously until the device turns on.
Note: The exact key combination to enter into Recovery mode might differ for your phone. So, if this key combination doesn’t work, it’s best to visit the manufacturer’s website to learn the correct key combination for your device.
Step 3: Once you’re into Recovery mode, use the volume buttons to navigate to the Wipe cache partition option. Then, press the power button to select the option.
Step 4: Lastly, highlight the Reboot system now option using the volume buttons and press the power button to select it.
13. Perform a Factory Reset
Lastly, if none of the above-mentioned fixes work, you’ve no option but to perform a factory reset. Doing so should wipe all the data on your phone and restore your phone’s settings to their default values.
Step 1: Open the Settings app, navigate to General management, and select Reset from the following menu.
Step 2: Tap on Factory data reset and tap the Reset button.
Follow the on-screen prompts to finish resetting your phone and check if the issue is resolved.

One of the most common causes of the "Mobile Network Not Available" error on Android is poor reception. This can happen when you are in an area with weak radio signals or when your device is unable to pick up signals from nearby cell towers. Here are some things you can do to check your reception:
Check Your Signal Strength
The first thing you should do when you experience network issues is to check your signal strength . You can do this by looking at the signal bars on your device. If you have low signal strength, it could be the reason why you are experiencing network issues.
Move to a Different Location
If you have low signal strength, try moving to a different location. This could help improve your reception and fix the " Mobile Network Not Available" error . You can also try going outside if you are indoors, or vice versa.
Check for Interference
Interference from other electronic devices can also affect your reception. Make sure you are not near any electronic devices that could be interfering with your signal. This could include microwaves, cordless phones, or other wireless devices.
- Network Operators
The mobile network mode determines how your phone connects to the cellular network. If it's set to the wrong mode, you may not be able to connect to the network. To check your mobile network mode:
- Go to "Settings" on your Android device.
- Tap "Network & Internet" or "Connections".

- Open the ' Settings ' app on your Android device.
- Tap 'Network & internet ' or ' Connections ', depending on your device model.
- Check if Wi-Fi is enabled. If so, tap the 'Wi-Fi' option and switch it off.
- If you're still unable to connect to the mobile network, consider removing any saved Wi-Fi networks. To do this, go to the Wi-Fi settings, tap the gear icon next to the network you wish to remove, and select 'Forget network'.
- If the issue persists, you might need to reset your network settings. - This will bring up a testing menu.

Factory Reset
If none of the previous methods have worked, it may be time to consider a factory reset. This will erase all data and settings on your phone, essentially returning it to its original state. Before doing this, it is important to back up any important data that you do not want to lose.
- Tap Factory Data Reset.
Let the phone complete the process. Once it is done, follow the on-screen steps to set up your smartphone from scratch.
Address Error Messages
If you are receiving any error messages when trying to connect to your mobile network, it is important to address them in order to fix the issue. Here are some common error messages and how to troubleshoot them:

Network performance issues have always been discussed among the populace and its provider. There are situations whereby the network is often poor, and various factors could be the cause. According to some of the expert advice for resolving phone network problems, it is essential to understand your device. Below are some of the causes of network problems:
- Sim card error
- Changes in configuration settings
- System shutdown from a network provider
- Operating system failure
- Low battery
- Server failure from a network provider
Whenever these instances occur, below are some solutions you can try to resolve and bring your network back to a good state.
Sometimes, your phone's local network may be stuck with some phone activities, which makes it difficult for it to perform better. What you need to do is restart your phone so that some functions can automatically stop.
Resetting your network settings can also address network problems. There are things we do on our phones that tamper with settings. For instance, switching sim cards for internet functions or changing their position. If the network problem persists, follow these steps to reset your network:
- Go to Settings on your phone menu
- Scroll down to click on System
- Tap on Reset options
- Click on Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth and wait for the process to finish.
- Wait For Some Minutes
In this situation, if there is no signal strength showing on your DNS servers, wait for some minutes. It could be that your network management is having a power outage or they are trying to fix some issues. Once you see signal strength, put a call through to your network provider to find out if the network is okay.
Data roaming is one of the network monitoring tools, especially when you are traveling and there is no network. Also, if you move to a new location and your provider has no network infrastructure, data roaming helps. Below is how to switch it on:
- Click on Settings on your phone menu
- Tap on the Network & internet
- Click on the Mobile network
- Toggle the button in front of the Roaming
Once you do that, your network begins to roam on your mobile phone and begin to connect to the strong ones around your location.
Many android devices have options for mobile networks. To resolve the connectivity issue on your phone, select a preferred network. Below is how to do it:
- Tap on Settings
- Click on Network & internet
- Tap on Sim cards

If you are looking to boost network performance, it might be ideal to bring your phone back to its previous state when you just bought it. You might just need to do a factory data reset. Thus, everything you might have downloaded or saved on your phone will be wiped off. Below are the steps:
- Go to Settings
- Click on System
- Click on Erase all data (factory reset) , and wait for the process to finish.
One fact stated in the expert advice for resolving phone network problems admits that most things we do online can cause slow networks. Some individuals connect their phones to Wi-Fi. It only reduces your network strength.
If you are looking to improve your phone network connection, upgrading is advisable. Updates are usually available to ensure your phone keeps operating smoothly. Whenever your phone notifies you to update your system, do it immediately. Below is the breakdown of the manual steps for updating your phone:
- Click on Settings
- Tap on System
- Click on System update
- Select the Online Update and select Continue
- Click on Resume
- Select either Cellular or Wi-Fi for an internet connection to finish the process.
While it is a general update, it also affects the network by upgrading whatever is needed and keeping your phone up with the latest upgrade.
Network problems are unavoidable. Even if your network provider is deemed the best, unforeseen circumstances can cripple network strength. However, it is advisable to put your phone on airplane mode if you are not calling or doing anything online. It saves your phone from unnecessary downloads and also preserves your battery.
Also, remove your phone battery whenever it looks like there is overheating. It also influences network strength and makes your phone malfunction. It usually works, especially if you wait for some minutes before switching on your phone.

Technology is not always perfect, so you can experience different problems that you can solve by yourself. Cell phones may present faults some times and we know it can be a very stressful situation. That is why we decided to make a top 20 of the most common mobile phone problems and their solutions, so you can solve them without losing your head –and your money.
Of course, there are several troubles that are a bit more difficult to solve if you are not a technology expert. If you cannot do it by yourself, we recommend you to take your mobile phone to an authorized service technician and hopefully, they will help you. So, we invite you to come with us and discover things that maybe you did not know about your cell phone.
20 Common Mobile Phone Problems & Solutions
1. slow phone.
This is something that everybody has experienced at least once. It is the most common mobile phone issue and it can be associated with old phones. However, newer devices can present the same problem. When your Random-Access Memory (RAM) is full of apps and files that you do not use or need, your phone tends to respond slowly.
The Solution: Clean your cell phone and close/delete apps, files and clear the cache data. If you recently installed an app and your phone is not working well, you should uninstall it and see if your mobile phone runs faster. If this does not help you, you can also try saving important information on Google Drive, Dropbox or just on your computer. Then, you can restore your cell phone to factory data.
2. Bad Battery Life
Another common problem that happens to everyone is when your phone never has battery enough although you do not use it all the time. There are different factors that can affect your battery life and you should take them into account before losing your battery.
The Solution: First, you should try to dim the screen brightness and turn off the GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth if you are not using them. You can also enable the Battery Saving Mode and see if your battery lasts longer. Additionally, you should check your Battery Usage in your phone Settings and see which apps are using more battery. You can close or disable the ones that are draining more battery if you usually do not need them.
3. Overheating Phone
This usual problem can be related to the previous one. An overheating phone is sometimes related to problems with your phone battery. But, it can also be related to your charger and also with the place you normally have your phone. If you are experiencing this, you should solve it soon because your battery and your phone screen can be seriously damaged.
Possible Solutions: You should try the previous possible solutions first to see if this problem is directly related to your battery issue. If it keeps overheating, try to carry your phone in a fresh place and keep it away from the sun’s heat. You can also give your phone some minutes to “refresh” and start using it again.
4. Full Storage Space
Maybe you are the kind of person that saves too many photos, songs, documents and some other files and although you do not need them anymore, you do not delete them. Sometimes those files are so old that you forget you have them stored in your cell phone. Unnecessary apps also occupy important storage space that can be used for other matters.
The Solution: This fourth common mobile problem can be related to the first we already mentioned before. When you have filled up your storage space, your cell phone tends to respond slowly. So, the possible solutions for this problem are the same: try to delete those files and apps that you do not use anymore, you can also delete old calls and text messages and clean the cache data. Try to transfer those files you would like to keep with you on an online cloud or buy a microSD card to save that valuable information in a safe place.
5. App Crashes/Freezes
This problem happens a lot and, although it is a very annoying thing, it is not so difficult to solve. Although it should not be a common thing, the truth is that apps sometimes present this issue and can be related to bugs on the app or maybe your operating system is not the best or the newest for those apps. There are apps that are constantly adding new options and improving some details for better performance, but sometimes your phone just cannot support the latest version and that app starts crashing all the time.
The Solution: The first thing you should try is to restart your cell phone and start using the app again. You can also go to the App Manager and stop the app, sometimes cleaning the cache data also works. If it continues doing the same, try to uninstall the app and install it again. As it was mentioned before, sometimes the app has a lot of bugs that cause this problem.
6. Phone Freezes
This happens a lot, especially in old phones or devices with full storage space. What people usually do is to restart their phones or turn them OFF and ON. When this does not work, we normally remove the phone battery and everything goes back to normal. However, some modern phones do not have this option because their batteries cannot be removed. Do not worry, we will tell what to do and how to do it.
The Solution: Depending on your phone, here are the steps you must follow to restart it:
- Click Volume Uponce
- Click Volume Down once
- Hold the Power key for 15 seconds.
- Press the Power key + Volume Down key at the same time for 10 seconds or until the Apple Logo appears.
- Press the Power key + Volume Down key at the same time for 15 seconds or until the Samsung Logo appears.
- Press the Power key + Volume Up at the same time for 10 seconds
- When the phone vibrates, press the power key like normal to turn ON the mobile phone.
- Press the Power key + Volume Up at the same time for 15 seconds or until the Android logo appears.
7. Apps Not Downloading
Users complain a lot about this issue that can be solved with just a few steps similar to the ones explained in the fourth problem. This mainly happens due to corrupt cache and it is pretty easy to solve it.
The Solution: Try cleaning the apps cache and you can also clean the history of Google Play and Google Play Services. Remember to restart your cell phone after doing that and try again to download the app you want
8. MicroSD card does not work
When your phone is full but you do not want to lose your files and you are too busy to move them to another place, you probably think about that old microSD card you bought few years ago. But, here comes the problem: your device does not want to accept that card.
The Solution: Your microSD probably has errors and your phone is not recognizing that card. Try to connect a card reader to your PC and format the microSD card at least two times. Restart your mobile phone and insert the SD card again.
9. Wet Cell Phone
Do not feel bad if you dropped your mobile phone and now it is wet. This happens a lot and most of the time it can be solved.
The Solution: The first this you should NOT do is to turn ON your device. It can be just the worst thing to do. Remove the battery and put the cell phone in a bowl full of rice. It will help to absorb the moisture. Now, take it to a service workshop and let them fix it.
10. Damaged Charging Port
Like everything in life, nothing lasts forever. And your phone is not an exception. Charging ports tend to deteriorate as time passes. Misuse or dirt can be some of the causes of this deterioration. This common problem needs to be solved by an expert. However, you can try some things to see if it works again.
The Solution: Before taking your mobile phone to the repair shop, try to clean the charging port with a new and dry toothbrush. You can also clean it using a dry cotton swab to remove the dust and dirt that does not allow your charging port to work properly. If this does not work, please take your phone the repair shop. Of course, these 10 problems are not the only ones that mobile phones have, but they are the most common ones according to Internet searches. However, we decided to add 10 more divided into 2 groups such as Android problems and iOS problems. Take a look at these following common issues.
5 Common Android Problems
11. google play store does not download apps.
This is something frequently experienced by Android users. People tend to panic and think there is nothing they can do and they will not be able to download anything again. Relax, we have 2 ways to fix this.
The Solution: The first option –and the most recognized- is to clean the Google Play cache. How can you do it? Go to Settings – Apps – Open Google Play Store – Clean Cache – Restart your phone. The second way to solve this problem is to clean the Google Play Store history. This is more simple than the first solution. First, you need to Open Google Play Store – Settings – Choose Clean History.
12. Google Play Store Crashes
We know how annoying is that you try to look for an app and Google Play crashes all the time. This happens a lot and must of the time is because of a corrupt cache. It should be solved with similar steps mentioned before.
The Solution: Although some menus vary, most Androids have the same options. So, you just need to go Settings – Apps – Open Google Play Store – Clean Cache and Data – Restart your phone. This should fix the crashing problem. But if it does not work, try doing the same with Google Play Services and Google Services Framework.
13. Connectivity Issues
Sometimes the connection through Bluetooth or WiFi can be a little bit difficult. This is one of the most common problems among Androids that can be solved just with a couple of simple steps.
The Solution: We recommend you to enable the airplane mode for at least 1 minute. Then, try to connect again. Occasionally, you can turn OFF and ON the connection that is failing and then try to connect it again.
14. Synchronization Failures
Sometimes you are trying to sync your account to a specific app but it seems just impossible to do it. Sometimes the app does not show you what the problem is, so you are not sure what you should do. When you have synchronization failures there are a few steps that you must follow.
The Solution: First of all, make sure that you are connected to the internet. You also need to check if the services that are you trying to sync (just like Google or Dropbox) is working as well. Another thing that you should do is to verify your password, check if it is correct and try again. If any of this works, remove entirely your account from your device and add it again.
15. Unsent Messages
Sometimes happens that you are texting someone and then the screen show “Message not sent, touch to retry”. You try over and over again to send the same message but it shows the same annoying alert.
The Solution: The first thing you must do is to make sure that you are connected to a WiFi network or that your mobile network is working correctly. Then, click on the message that was not sent and select the resend option. This should be enough, but if you still have the same issue, try to restart your phone or try downloading another message service app.
5 Common iOS Problems
16. control center button does not respond.
According to the Apple Toolbox, some users have been reporting some issues with the Control Center button or Home button. They say that the button is constantly freezing and does not respond.
The Solution: If this happens to you, you must go to Settings and then to the Control Center to customize and delete the specific app that does not work in the including section. You can do it by sliding it on the left and touching Delete. After that, you must restart your device and once it is turned ON again, you can customize the controls again and add the app that you remove before.
17. iPhone Overheats
A lot of customers complain that their devices turning extremely hot. They also affirm that feel like their phones are swelling and they open by themselves. This problem was already explained, but iPhones tend to present this issue more than other phones.
The Solution: If you are using a specific app and your cell phone overheats, let it rest for a while. You can disable the location service by going to Settings and Privacy. We recommend you to do this because the location service uses GPS, Bluetooth and mobile locations to determine where you are. This could mean a lot of activity for your phone. If you are charging your iPhone and it overheats, unplugged it for several minutes until it cools. Then, you can plug it again. Removing the case of your device also works. It will avoid that the plug keeps the heat and it will not block the heat output of the phone.
18. Issues to Connect to WiFi
Users express through the Apple forum that they lose the WiFi connection and they cannot connect to a local network. While a WiFi network is working with other devices; users assure that they have problems to find a stable connection. Before trying to find out the possible error in your cell phone, make sure that the router is close to you. You must also make sure that you can see your WiFi network to check that it is connected to the correct network.
The Solution: You can also try to restart your devise or the router by unplugging it and plugging it again. If it still not responds you may go to settings to reestablish your network. It will restore the Wi-Fi network and the password with the VPN and APN of your cell phone. Just in case the problem continues, remember that you can restore to the factory configuration by eliminating all the content. Before doing this make sure of have made a backup of all the important files that you have on your phone because everything will be erased once you restore your device.
19. The Screen Is Not Bright Enough
Some users explain they have noticed that the screen looks dark although the brightness is at the highest level. You are not the only one who has experienced this. So, keep calm and read what you need to do.
The Solution: To solve this problem you can go to General Settings, then to accessibility and after that click on Screen Adaptations. You will see an option to reduce the white point at the button so you can adapt the intensity of the colors until you consider is good for you.
20. Unable To Connect To The App Store
Besides some issues experienced at the moment of downloading apps, some users have also had problems to go on the App Store. They receive error messages saying that their devices cannot currently connect to the App Store.
The Solution: A possible solution for that is to set the date and time of your device. Disable the option of set automatically, instead of that, set the date and time manually. Then, go to the App Store and let it open for about 5 seconds at least. Activate the date and time automatically again and then close the App Store and open it again. We are sure there are many more problems among phones, no matter, if they are Android phones or they are part of the iOS technology. But, this time we just covered the most common issues and we hope those possible solutions work for you. Please share with us if you have experienced some of these problems and how you solved them!

Hello Sir, I have a refurbished LG V60 from AT&T and I’m using it here in the Philippines, it was working fine for about 42 days and suddenly I’m having network problems, it won’t properly connect to the carrier (Smart Cellular). Could this be a software issue or hardware issue? Phone doesn’t show the “No sim inserted issue”, it just won’t connect for longer than 2-3 seconds to the gsm network. I downloaded an app called Tower Collector which scans for cell signals and it has somewhat fixed the problem because I can now connect to the gsm network ( but not 100% fixed because sometimes it still disconnects) but it drains my battery fast with this app. I already reset the phone network config and factory reset 2 times but the problem is still there.
Flash the IMEI Number.
Sirji, I dropped my lg g6 phone and after that sim is not working in it. Sim works for other phones. Went to local technician but he says network ic is bad and it is not available locally. I feel sim reader is bad but wanted to know what you think of it?
Sorry, no one can tell for sure without physically checking it.

Hello Sir, i have bought a new Lava Z66 – 2 weeks back through Flipkart, after using 5 days there was a problem occured with internet connection. So, flipkart has replaced the faulty phone with new one. Now after 10 days the problem has occured in replaced phone as well. Flipkart insisting to speak to Lava as 7 days replacement period is over, Lava is saying to take the phone to nearest service station to software update. I am worried what to do even after the software update if the problem gets repeated. (Problem is Internet not connecting and phone showing only ‘E’ symbol in place of VoLTE and 4G – All the settings are perfect and there is no problem from Network providers)
Software update will fix the issue.

hello sir! Lately, my phone is having connectivity issues. The model is YUPHORIA. Initially it worked fine with both my sims, one had LTE connection and the other had gsm connection. But now, both the sims won’t work simultaneously. Only one sim works at a time, and the other one is detected but doesn’t pick the network. Also the 4G sim functions very slow, calls get distorted, internet speed has drastically fallen, and often loses network which I have to register manually. I went to the service center, and they suggested me to change the PCB. What should I do? Shall I go ahead and get the PCB changed or is there any other solution I can try?
Check and Change SIM Network Setting. Select LET, 3G, 4G for BOTH SIMs and TEST.

Sometimes it catches network but most of the times it doesn’t. The service center says the motherboard has to be replaced. Is there any other solution to the issue as motherboard cost nearly around the same cost as a new phone.
You have to clean the PCB of the phone with IPA or Alcohol or Petrol or Flux. Allow to Dry and assemble back.

How to diagnose and fix DNS problems
Dead websites, page loading issues, web not working as it should? Here's what to do next.
Browsing the web is so easy, simple and straightforward that it feels almost automatic. Sure, you know there's a lot of low-level tech making this happen, but who cares when it just works?
That only makes it more frustrating when you suddenly get major page loading issues, though, dead websites everywhere, and all kinds of other web-based complications.
Internet connectivity problems across multiple websites can look like something you'll never fix yourself, but that's not always true – they're often related to DNS (Domain Name System) problems. In this article we'll look at how to identify these, and then get your system working again.
- Get security, streaming and more with today's best VPNs
What is DNS?
Accessing a new website looks simple, at least from user's point of view. Enter the URL in a browser, wait a few seconds, website appears, that's about it. Peek under the hood, though, and there's a lot more going on.
Your browser can't access a web server from a domain name like techradar.com, for instance. It can only find and download websites when it has a server IP address , such as 199.232.198.114.
A device normally handles this by asking your ISP's DNS server to translate the domain name into an IP address. Easy.
But what if DNS fails, and the server doesn't always return the IP address you need? Then you'll see major web problems.
What does a DNS issue look like?
If your DNS fails entirely then it's likely you'll see timeouts, DNS or other errors with all your internet apps. It might look like your entire internet is dead.
Other DNS failures are partial, though, affecting some websites only. Maybe you'll access sites a, b and c as usual, but x, y and z all seem to be down.
Partial failures can also cause odd-looking page loading issues. What if DNS allows you to access bigsite.com, but not the domain where it hosts its images, scripts or contact forms?
You might see image placeholders, empty spaces where content used to be, or buttons and other site features not working as they should. It's this mix of problems across multiple sites that's one of the tell-tale signs of a DNS problem.
Diagnosing a DNS issue
The simplest DNS problem to diagnose is an issue with your current server. Try the same websites on a connection using another DNS server, and if they're now accessible and work correctly, it looks like you have a DNS issue.
If you've problems on a mobile device connected to your home Wi-Fi, for example, switching to your mobile network allows you to test a site with new DNS servers.
Or if you're on the move and already using your mobile network, look for a free hotspot you can try. (Just for a quick connectivity test, though – free Wi-Fi can be a security risk causing more problems than it solves, and you should always use at least a cheap VPN to stay safe on these networks.)
No other connections available? Try the virtual online browser Browserling . If you can reach it, choose Chrome as your preferred browser, enter the URL in the address box and click Test Now! Browserling uses its own DNS to connect to the site, so if it gets you access and your own connection doesn't, it could be a DNS issue.
Test your DNS server
A more advanced test is to manually ask your DNS server for the IP address of the domain you're trying to access. If the server can't find the IP or displays an error, that points to a DNS difficulty.
To try this on Windows, click Start , type CMD and open Command Prompt , then type NSLOOKUP and press Enter. ( NSLOOKUP is often available on Macs and Linux – try opening it from your terminal window.)
NSLOOKUP launches and displays the name and IP address of your current DNS server (or 192.168.* if devices get their DNS via your router's connection.)
Now type the name of any domain you can't currently access, press Enter, and NSLOOKUP queries your DNS server.
If NSLOOKUP displays the site IP address, it looks like DNS is working correctly.
But if NSLOOKUP displays an error like ' can't find Google .com: Non-existent domain ', that's pretty conclusive evidence that something is screwed up at the DNS level. Although there is one more quick trick you should try.
Try another DNS server
You've proved that your DNS server can't find an IP address for a domain, but will other DNS servers do any better? NSLOOKUP makes it really, really easy to find out.
Type SERVER 1.1.1.1 , press Enter , and NSLOOKUP changes its default DNS server to the IP address 1.1.1.1. (That's Cloudflare. If you know you were using Cloudflare before and that's the DNS with the problem, switch to Google's 8.8.8.8 , instead.)
Now enter whatever domain you couldn't reach earlier, and NSLOOKUP sends its DNS query to Cloudflare (or Google), instead.
If NSLOOKUP failed earlier but successfully gets an IP with Cloudflare, that looks like a problem affecting your DNS server only.
Test this by entering the IP address in your browser, instead of the regular domain. Use 142.250.179.238 for Google, for instance. If you can't access the website when you enter a domain, but it at least begins to load with the IP address, that confirms your DNS issues.
How to fix DNS problems
If it looks like your ISP's DNS isn't working, the quickest and most effective solution is to switch to a free public DNS server . Google and Cloudflare offer fast and reliable services which anyone can use, no registration required.
Changing DNS servers normally involves tweaking your device network settings. The Cloudflare support site has guides on setting up Cloudflare DNS for Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, routers, gaming consoles, Linux and more. These are sometimes very basic ('install app X to do it for you'), but Google's equivalent page has more detailed advice if you need it.
Whatever changes you make, be sure to note down your original settings first, just in case you need to switch them back later.
Reboot your device when you're done, and it should now be using your (hopefully) problem-free new DNS server.
If you still have internet connectivity problems, though, it's time to ask your ISPs support team for help. Tell them what you've tried, and that should help them diagnose the issue and get your connection running smoothly again.

Chromebook won't connect to Wi-Fi? Here's how to fix the problem
T here are multiple ways to identify and resolve the problem when your Chromebook won't connect to Wi-Fi. Your Chromebook isn't useless when you suddenly lose the connection. An offline Chromebook still performs many tasks. Prepare for future connection losses by taking these steps to use it offline .
We show you how to fix a faulty Wi-Fi connection on any Chromebook, from high-end laptops to our favorite budget models .
Common methods to fix your Wi-Fi connection
Try these methods if your Chromebook doesn't connect to the internet. You can perform them in minutes, and they help you narrow down the problem.
If none of these options work, try the advanced methods.
Check your Wi-Fi or Network icon
The Wi-Fi icon in your Chromebook's Quick Settings menu (accessed by clicking the time in the lower-right corner of the screen) is grayed out when Wi-Fi is turned off on your Chromebook. It's likely a problem with an individual network rather than your Chromebook if it's blue and you aren't connected to a network. In this case, connect to another network.
Check another network
Connect to another Wi-Fi network to see if the problem is the Wi-Fi network or your Chromebook. Turn your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot if you don't have another Wi-Fi network nearby.
Check if you're connecting to a compatible network
The network may be incompatible with your Chromebook if you cannot connect to a new Wi-Fi network but can connect to others. Follow these steps to check if your network is compatible with your Chromebook:
- Open the Wi-Fi menu in your Chromebook's Settings app.
- Click the arrow next to the network you want to connect to. Close
- Click the Advanced heading.
- Check the acronym under Security against the list of compatible security settings below. Close
Compatible security settings include WEP, Dynamic WEP, WPA/WPA2/WPA3-PSK, WPA Enterprise, WPA2 Enterprise, and WPA3 Enterprise.
Reset your Wi-Fi connections
You may have disconnected and reconnected to the Wi-Fi network, but you may need to reset your connections completely. We recommend doing this if you tinkered with your network settings.
- Click the arrow next to the network you want to connect to.
- Click Forget at the top of the window. Close
Deactivate preferred networks
A common issue is the preferred network setting, which can cause trouble when connecting to a new network. This setting prioritizes one network over another, sometimes causing problems when it cannot connect to the preferred network. Follow these steps to adjust your preferred network settings:
- Click Known networks .
- Click the three-dot button next to a preferred network.
- Click Remove from preferred in the drop-down menu. Close
Update your Chromebook
You need an internet connection to update your Chromebook. Use your phone as a hotspot or an Ethernet cable to install the latest version of ChromeOS if you cannot connect to alternative networks.
Your Chromebook should update automatically, but a manual update can fix lingering issues preventing you from connecting to Wi-Fi.
- Open the Settings app on your Chromebook.
- Click About Chrome OS from the sidebar.
- Click Check for updates . Close
Advanced methods to fix your Wi-Fi connection
These methods may not be available on certain Chromebooks, require technical knowledge, or require factory resetting your Chromebook. If you haven't performed the methods described above, do those before attempting these steps.
Run Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics
Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics is a simple network testing and troubleshooting tool available through the Chrome Web Store . Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics only identifies common issues. It doesn't fix any. It's a valuable tool when you're struggling to identify a problem with your Wi-Fi connection.
Some of the tests performed by the tool include:
- The status of DNS servers and caches.
- Local network connection availability.
- Wi-Fi network signal strength.
- Availability of the default gateway.
Connect your Chromebook via Ethernet
Most Chromebooks don't have an Ethernet port. Consider investing in a USB-C hub if you work from home. Many of these contain Ethernet ports for a more stable connection. There may be a problem with your local router or Chromebook's Wi-Fi settings if you can connect to the internet via Ethernet but not by Wi-Fi.
Switch to a mobile network
Some of the best Chromebooks have 5G capabilities, allowing you to skip using Wi-Fi. There may be a problem with your local router or Chromebook's Wi-Fi settings if you can connect to the internet via 5G.
Powerwash your Chromebook
Sometimes, a factory reset is the way to go. This is called Powerwash on Chromebooks. It reverts your laptop to its factory settings. A Powerwash may solve your problem if your Chromebook cannot connect to Wi-Fi after installing software or an update.
- Click Advanced from the sidebar on the left.
- Click Reset settings from the drop-down menu.
- Click the Reset button next to the Powerwash heading. Close
If you have problems factory resetting your Chromebook, our guide walks you through alternative methods of performing a Powerwash .
ChromeOS is not without its flaws
The simplicity of Chromebooks can be a problem. Due to your limited control over installing programs, you cannot access many popular diagnostic tools available for Windows and macOS. Consider switching your Chromebook to run Windows to have a broader range of apps and tools.

So, these are some reasons which lead to network issues in your phone. Now you have a question how can I solve Redmi Note 11 network problem or issue?
Best Methods to fix Redmi Note 11 network issue.
1. restart the phone:.
Whenever you are facing an issue like this, the first thing you should do is restart the phone. Restarting the phone can help you to fix this issue.
Just restart your phone and wait for a couple of seconds and see whether the phone gets cools down or not. When you restart the phone all the programs get refreshed and restarted.
So, please restart once. And, this is a temporary solution, read all the different methods given below to permanently get rid of this issue.
2. Networking Area:
The area where you are living can impact network connectivity. If you are living in an area where the network is not that good or the network you are using is not good, then this can be the reason.
Well, you can not change the living area just to get a better connection, but you can do another thing. Like you can change your SIM c a rd company or network provider so that you can check which company of SIM works for your area and your phone.
If the SIM card you are currently using doesn’t have good network coverage or the tower of your SIM card company is far away from your home, then you should change the SIM card company.
There are a lot of kinds of SIM cards out there, you just have to try another SIM card company, which has better network coverage in your area and has towers in the area.
And you do not have to change the contact number, you can port the SIM card to not change the number. And you have to roam around the whole house and check, which part of the house there is a good network. This can help you to fix Redmi Note 11 network issue.
3. Network Mode:
If you have done any updates in past or had hard reset your phone, then network modes have changed to default or another mode. Make sure your phone always selected 4G mode if it’s not selected to 4G.
4. Airplane Mode:
Airplane mode can also fix this issue, but here Airplane mode has a positive and negative side to this situation , because if your phone is already in airplane mode then definitely the network will not gonna work. So, first, disable airplane mode.
Now, if you are in your network area but have no service notification or something else, then you can use airplane mode. Whenever you see that the network is fluctuating too much then you can use this to fix or stable the network.
- Just turn on the Airplane mode
- Wait for a couple of seconds
- And then turn off the Airplane mode
5. Choose a Good Network / SIM Provider:
A good SIM card and good network can fix most of the issues in our phone, choosing the wrong SIM company is the biggest reason for network issues. Maybe the SIM you are using has not good connectivity or good frequency in your area.
So, you just have to change the SIM company which has better connectivity in your area and has better service. And it can also fix Redmi Note 11 network issue.
6. Reset SIM Card:
If the issue is still there then you should reinsert the SIM card. Sometimes due to some reasons, the SIM card slot also created some issues.
So, just have to remove and reinsert the SIM card. To reinsert the SIM card, follow these steps:
- Remove the SIM card slot through the SIM ejector tool
- Then, remove the SIM card from the slot
- Clean the SIM card slot and SIM with a cotton cloth
- Fix the SIM card properly into the SIM slot
- And then, insert the SIM slot into the phone
- Then, restart the phone once
- And see this issue must be fixed

7. Reset Phone’s Network:
Network resetting and phone network resets are two different things. So, first, you have to reset the phone’s network.
You have to reset the phone’s network settings through the phone dial pad. Have to open the dial pad of your phone, and this can reset the whole network setting in your phone.
You have to run an SCRTN (Special code to Reset the Network) code on your phone to reset the network settings. And one this you have to note that this code is only working for the phone that has a CDMA network in the USA.
So, if you gave that then follow these steps:
- Open the dial pad in your phone
- Type ##72786# in dialer
- Then, reset the setting
Apply this code and fix your issue.
8. Reset Network Settings:
In the previous option, we learned how to reset the phone’s network setting, here this method will reset the WIFI, Hotspot of your phone.
If the issue is still there and you have applied all the settings maintained above don’t work, then you should reset the network setting of your phone.
Make sure that you do not have to reset the whole phone, you only need to reset the network settings. Sometimes some settings get mismatched and resetting the network can fix this.
To reset the setting, follow these steps:
- Open settings in your phone
- Scroll down and select Additional Settings
- On that page, tap on Back up and reset
- Then, tap on Erase all data (factory reset)
- Select Reset network settings
- Provide your fingerprint I’d, password, or pattern (whatever you have selected)
- Tap on Reset network settings
9. Reset APN:
APN.s are a very important part of networks and online stuff. And this could be managed well. So, you just have to do one thing that you have to reset the APN setting in your phone to reset the network connections and for security.
To, reset the APN settings, follow these steps:
- Then, tap on Network and internet
- On that page, tap on SIMs (TELCEL)
- Then, tap on Access Point Names
- Now, tap on the three-dot option in the top right corner
- Tap on Reset to default
10. Reset the WIFI Router:
Sometimes whenever we connect to our home WFI, it starts showing some issues. It doesn’t connect to the WIFI. And resulting we see the connectivity issue. Sometimes the connection is good but the internet is not accessible or if it is truly accessible but the speed is not good.
So, we just have to restart the WIFI. Turn OFF the WIFI router and wait for 5-10 seconds, and then turn it on. And then reconnect to the WIFI with your phone and see if the WIFI is connecting or not. And if it is connected then the connection is good or not.
The placement of the router also affects the speed of the internet and also impacts the connectivity of the internet. So, place your WIFI in a place where there are fewer obstacles like walls between the router and your phone. So, change the placement of your WIFI router. And it can fix Redmi Note 11 wifi issue.
And if still there is an issue you are facing with your WIFI, then you should reconnect to your WIFI.
- Open settings in your Redmi Note 11
- Tap on Network & internet
- Then, tap on WIFI
- Now, tap on your connected home WIFI
- Then, tap on forget network or remove network
- Then, search the network again
- Select the WIFI of your home
- Type password and connect
11. Update the Phone & Apps:
Most of the apps in our are running through the internet, if the internet is not there then the apps become useless. But, an old version of that app can not work properly and started creating some issues. Not you need to update those apps. Some apps can not sync with the internet and servers, so you have to update all the apps.
To update all apps, follow these steps:
- Open Google Play Store on your Redmi Note 11
- Then, tap on the profile icon which is in the right upper side corner)
- Then, tap on Manage apps and device
- On that page, tap on the update Available option
- Then, select the app which you want to update
- Now, update the apps
There are a lot of Redmi Note 11 users who are facing a lot of issues after the new update. But, don’t worry it also can be fixed.
So, if this is the reason, then you have to wait for the next update. The next update will fix this issue. Updating the phone can fix errors, bugs, and many more things. But before updating the phone you should keep some points in your mind.
- But before doing an update make sure that your phone should have more than 40 percent charge,
- Your phone should have a 2X or more than 2X storage the size of the update and
- Your phone must be connected to the WIFI or mobile data.
- Now, update the phone, and this can fix Redmi Note 11 network issue.
12. Reset the Phone:
Now, if you have done all the methods which I have given above don’t work, then you have only one option left and that is factory data reset. This is the final move to fix this issue.
But, before resetting the phone, make sure that you kept all the important documents, and files in the backup. If you don’t, then please backup all the important things, then do backup. And this method really helps you to fix this issue.
13. Talk with Network Provider:
You can fix this issue by talking with customer toll-free customer care support. Call the customer support of your SIM card company. All SIM company has their own toll-free number or customer support number but (198) is a common number for all customer support.
You can talk to them, describe your problem properly and they will fix your problem in a couple of hours or in a couple of days.
14. hardware issue:
If you have also done a factory reset to your phone but still have the issue then it could be the hardware issue in your phone, not the software issue.
Maybe the modem of your Redmi Note 11 has been damaged, so go to the MI service center and they can fix Redmi Note 11 network issue.
Conclusion:
So, these are some methods to fix Redmi Note 11 network issue. All these methods are very easy, useful, and working, however, these issues are very common in Redmi Note 11 and on other phones too. So, don’t panic, and don’t be tense. And if you have some other kinds of issues like heating / overheating, and battery draining in your Redmi Note 11, then I have also created separate articles on those common problems in Redmi Note 11. I have given all the links to those articles. Go and check them out.

The Real Shim Shady - How CVE-2023-40547 Impacts Most Linux Systems
On February 2, 2024 details about a new vulnerability being tracked as CVE-2023-40547 was released for shim, a critical piece of software used by most Linux distributions in the boot process to support Secure Boot. Discovered and reported by Bill Demirkapi at Microsoft’s Security Response Center, this particular vulnerability stems from HTTP protocol handling, leading to an out-of-bounds write that can lead to complete system compromise.
To get more information on this critical vulnerability, register for our upcoming webinar: Shim Shady (CVE-2023-40547): A Bootloader Vulnerability Story
What is Shim?
Due to legal issues arising from license incompatibilities , open-source projects and other third parties built a small application called a “shim,” that contains the vendor’s certificate and code that verifies and runs the bootloader (typically GRUB2). The vendor’s shim is verified using the Microsoft 3rd Party UEFI CA, and then the shim loads and verifies the GRUB2 bootloader using the vendor certificate embedded inside itself (reference: There’s A Hole In The Boot ).
The Vulnerability
Red Hat maintains the shim software used by most Linux distributions. On December 5, 2023 a code commit was issued to fix the out-of-bounds write occurring in the HTTP boot code inside shim. While on the surface this may look like an issue only affecting Red Hat (according to the CPE), this vulnerability impacts all Linux distributions that support Secure Boot. Several distributions have begun the response process , including Debian, Ubuntu, SUSE, and others. The official NVD entry for CVE-2023-40547 shows NVD’s CVSS score as 9.8 (Critical) and Red Hat’s CVSS score as 8.3 (High).
In addition to CVE-2023-40547 there are 5 additional vulnerabilities disclosed in shim recently, all currently scored as medium severity:
- CVE-2023-40546 – Fixes a LogError() invocation (NULL pointer dereference).
- CVE-2023-40548 – Fixes an integer overflow on SBAT section size on 32-bit systems (heap overflow).
- CVE-2023-40549 – Fixes an out-of-bounds read when loading a PE binary.
- CVE-2023-40550 – Fixes an out-of-bounds read when trying to validate the SBAT information.
- CVE-2023-40551 – Fix bounds check for MZ binaries
The Impact & Remediation
There are a few attack paths that can be used to exploit this vulnerability:
- An attacker could perform a MiTM (Man-in-the-Middle) attack and intercept HTTP traffic between the victim and the HTTP server used to serve files to support HTTP boot. The attacker could be located on any network segment between the victim and the legitimate server.
- The vulnerability can also be exploited locally by an attacker with enough privileges to manipulate data in the EFI Variables or on the EFI partition. This can be accomplished with a live Linux USB stick. The boot order can then be changed such that a remote and vulnerable shim is loaded on the system. This shim is then used to execute privileged code from the same remote server, all without ever disabling Secure Boot.
- An attacker on the same network as the victim can manipulate PXE to chain-load a vulnerable shim bootloader.
An attacker exploiting this vulnerability gains control of the system before the kernel is loaded, which means they have privileged access and the ability to circumvent any controls implemented by the kernel and operating system.
As with previous vulnerabilities in software responsible for the boot process, such as Boot Hole , the Secure Boot chain of trust must be updated. This means the UEFI Secure Boot DBX (revocation list) must be updated to include the hashes of the vulnerable shim software. Steps must also be taken to sign (with the Microsoft 3rd Party CA) new patched versions of shim.
This must be done alongside updating to the new shim version containing the patch. The order of operations here is important as users must first update to the latest version of shim, and then apply the DBX update.
One of the best ways to apply a DBX update on Linux systems is to use fwupd. This can be done from the command line, provided fwupd is installed, by issuing the ‘fwupdmgr update ’ command, as shown below:
Applying a DBX update on Linux systems using fwupd
Select distributions with the appropriate GNOME add-ons can use the GUI interface to apply the very same updates, as shown below:
Note: In the Firmware Security Realizations – Part 1 – Secure Boot and DBX blog post, we documented a method of manually updating the DBX on Linux systems. This was before the fwupd project supported this functionality, and as such, using fwupd is the recommended method. Fwupd contains functionality that will check to ensure that the software currently installed on your system is not in the DBX, which would cause Secure Boot to halt the boot process.
Eclypsium detects this and other secure boot vulnerabilities by tracking bootloader versions and integrity. Changes to the bootloader may occur during OS updates, but signed bootloaders are necessary for the UEFI Secure Boot process.
Eclypsium also tracks the DBX revocation list on each system. This helps IT administrators find systems that would boot the vulnerable version of shim and lock down this issue. Even if older DBX versions are used on the device, Eclypsium can identify bootloader changes, including the use of vulnerable bootloaders that would not have booted using the latest DBX.
