Six Midland teens arrested for car thefts in Odessa
ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Six Midland teenagers were arrested for stealing a car and burglarizing several others in Odessa.
Daniel Nehr, 17 years old, is being charged as an adult. A 16-year-old boy, three 15-year-old boys, and a 14-year-old boy are also being charged.
On April 3 at approximately 4:48am, OPD responded to the 3900 block of Richmond in reference to several auto burglaries. Investigation revealed that several juveniles had burglarized vehicles and stolen a vehicle before running away. One of the victims provided surveillance footage, which showed six suspects.
Officers eventually located all six suspects, who were identified as Nehr and the five other boys. All six subjects were from Midland.
Based on the the investigation, all six subjects were charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity “State Jail Felony”, Theft of Property “State Jail Felony”, two counts of Burglary of a Vehicle “Misdemeanor A”, and Attempted Burglary of a Vehicle “Misdemeanor B”. Four out of the six subjects were additionally charged with Criminal Trespass “Misdemeanor B”.
Nehr was transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center and the other 5 juveniles were transported to the Youth Center.
