Second Step Elementary classroom kits combined with the Principal Toolkit allow educators to reinforce social-emotional skills schoolwide. With the Principal Toolkit, social-emotional learning moves beyond the classroom as staff use assembly and announcement scripts, staff meeting agendas, and other tools to reinforce skills and encourage positive behavior. Back in the classroom, the evidence-based Second Step® Elementary lessons promote self-regulation, emotion management, problem-solving, and responsible decision-making. This bundle contains one classroom kit for each grade from K–5, plus one copy of the Principal Toolkit.

- Second Step Elementary classroom kits for Grades K, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (1 kit per grade) The elementary years bring exciting new challenges and opportunities. It’s the prime time to nurture social-emotional awareness and skills for learning. The evidence-based Second Step® Elementary program includes everything needed to make it easy for teachers to integrate social-emotional learning into their classrooms, which decreases problem behaviors and increases whole-school success by promoting self-regulation, safety, and support. Includes streaming media for all grades, giving you online access to lesson photos, songs, and videos (also in Spanish for Kindergarten–Grade 3).
- Principal Toolkit This all-new resource provides busy elementary principals with easy, everyday ways to make the most of the Second Step Elementary classroom kits. By embedding Second Step concepts into school practices and policies, principals can sustain a culture of caring, learning, and achievement.
How It Works
Social-emotional skills—like math skills—build on each other. Our universal, classroom-based program is designed to teach children how to understand and manage their emotions, control their reactions, be aware of others’ feelings, and have the skills to problem-solve and make responsible decisions. Each grade-level classroom kit includes easy-to-teach, short weekly lessons, engaging songs and games, and daily activities and take-home materials to reinforce learning.
