Apparently, fans don’t want JLo now. So her tour producers are hoping they’ll want JLo then.

The struggling North American “This Is Me…Now” tour – Jennifer Lopez ‘s first in five years — is transforming into “This Is Me…Live/The Greatest Hits.” It’s apparently hoped that the promise of familiar material will goose ticket sales, which already saw seven tour dates canceled.

It has been 10 years since Lopez’s last studio LP, 2014’s A.K.A. , and 22 years since 2002’s This Is Me … Then gave her two of her biggest hits in  “Jenny From the Block”  and “All I Have.” 

The two films are This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, and a documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told. ”

The projects were part of a self-financed, $20 million multimedia project that includes the tour and the two films.

Jennifer Lopez rebrands 2024 tour as greatest hits concert after canceling dates

Weeks after canceling several tour dates due to a logistical error, Jennifer Lopez has rebranded her upcoming 2024 This Is Me... Now tour as a career-spanning celebration titled This Is Me... Live: The Greatest Hits.

"Come dance the night away at This Is Me…LIVE this Summer," Lopez wrote on Instagram alongside a video montage highlighting her past singles and notable film appearances, from "Love Don't Cost a Thing" to Selena .

“Who knew that this girl right here, singing for my family, performing around my city and following my passion, would take me places I could never have imagined,” Lopez says in the clip, also calling the performances "a celebration for all of us" on the road. “No matter what, I’m just the girl I’ve always been, with the love that drives me to share my story on stage like I always have.”

Some reports initially suggested that the tour's promotion shifted to include more of Lopez's discography due to low ticket sales, but Entertainment Weekly has learned that the singer made no changes to the planned setlist or the content of the show itself, and that the tour was always intended to be a celebration of Lopez's career rather than just highlight her recent This Is Me... Now album and its accompanying movie, This Is Me...Now: A Love Story .

In March, Lopez canceled tour dates spanning Aug. 22-30, including stops in Nashville, Atlanta, Tampa, New Orleans, and Raleigh, N.C.

Like its predecessor — her 2002 album,  This Is Me... Then — the sequel This Is Me... Now chronicles Lopez's love life, in particular her marriage to actor  Ben Affleck following their previous separation.

Though the accompanying Amazon Original streaming movie made headlines and was one of the platform's most-watched titles the week of its release, This Is Me... Now  the album spent only one week on the  Billboard  200 albums chart, at No. 38, despite reaching No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart.

Jennifer Lopez ‘s current tour may undergo a rebrand.

Amid canceled dates , the New York native has reportedly updated the name of her concert to reflect her career highlights, rather than focusing on her latest album.

According to Variety, the  54-year-old has renamed her headlining journey from “This Is Me… Now” to “This Is Me… Live | The Greatest Hits.” Announced in February, the tour is accompanied by the release of her latest album This Is Me… Now , the short film T his Is Me…Now: A Love Story , and a documentary , The Greatest Love Story Never Told .

“I’ve been working on [the project] for two years, I mean, I had the album all done when I announced it a year ago. It just took that long to get everything perfect and right and to make the movie,” the pop star explained.

“I came up with the idea for the movie after the music was made. I was like, ‘Okay, there’s something really special to be said here along with this story,’ and there’s also the journey that I’ve been on all this time, and I wanted to share all of those things with this project because it really is a culmination of a whole life in a way.”

Liberal Harvard professor calls to 'abandon' mandatory DEI statements: 'Make me wince'

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (TND) — A Harvard professor, in an editorial for the university's newspaper this week, blasted mandatory diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) statements, calling for them to be immediately abandoned.

Randall Kennedy, a professor at Harvard Law School, noted how Harvard sometimes asks job applicants to submit a statement on “orientation toward diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.” Such a requirement, he wrote, is intended only “for the purpose of showcasing attentiveness to DEI.”

“Playing ball entails affirming that the DEI bureaucracy is a good thing and asking no questions that challenge it, all the while making sure to use in one’s attestations the easy-to-parody DEI lingo,” Kennedy wrote. “It does not take much discernment to see, moreover, that the diversity statement regime leans heavily and tendentiously towards varieties of academic leftism and implicitly discourages candidates who harbor ideologically conservative dispositions.”

These questions, he continued, are solely devised for weeding out candidates who do not conform to the demands of the “DEI regime.” Such requirements would not play well if flipped to include right-leaning political ideologies, Kennedy alleges.

“Imagine the howl of protest that would (or should) erupt if a school at Harvard asked a candidate for a faculty position to submit a statement of their orientation towards capitalism, or patriotism, or Making America Great Again with a clear expectation of allegiance?” the professor asked.

Mandatory DEI statements are "ideological pledges of allegiance," as well as an overreach by universities which threatens intellectual discussion, he claims.

“I am a scholar on the left committed to struggles for social justice,” Kennedy wrote. “The realities surrounding mandatory DEI statements, however, make me wince."

Kennedy is the author of “N-----: The Strange Career of a Troublesome Career” and “Sellout: The Politics of Race Betrayal.”

Harvard is one of several colleges to find itself entangled in a debate over DEI in higher education recently. In January, billionaire donor Ken Griffin elected to withdraw financial support from the Ivy League university over its DEI initiatives, claiming college students are turning into "whiny snowflakes."

This guide organizes advice from past students who got 4s and 5s on their exams. We hope it gives you some new ideas and tools for your study sessions. But remember, everyone's different—what works for one student might not work for you. If you've got a study method that's doing the trick, stick with it. Think of this as extra help, not a must-do overhaul.

💭 General Advice

Tips on mindset, strategy, structure, time management, and any other high level things to know

  • What can helped you is pick one Spanish speaking country a few months ago and learn a lot about their culture rather than small bits from everywhere, so you have information to fit any prompt thrown at you!
  • Don’t write down an entire script in your prep time, write concise notes about your main ideas!
  • These will be necessary as the task for the presentation typically dwells on the comparison of a Spanish speaking country to your country of residence. Having this general background will aid in giving you a foundation from which to start your analysis.
  • Your knowledge over these subparts doesn’t have to be overly intricate. If you begin by focusing on one specific country earlier on in the year, gathering and memorizing such facts, it will help you have a more extensive background, and information from which to draw from.
  • Generally, practice speaking in the language being examined as much as you can as the exam approaches, this will help you gain fluidity and confidence. Overall, the use of the language becomes much more natural.
  • Develop a list of words, phrases, synonyms, and transitional words that you can use to bridge gaps in your vocal presentation. This can help prevent repetitiveness, vagueness, and or stumbling over words while speaking.
  • It can helpful to read through the comments AP graders left on students’ submission. Gather this insight and keep it in mind while you’re doing your exam.
  • Go through the different example responses, and try to determine what aspects of a response ended up distinguishing a score of a 1 from a 3, and a 3 from a 5.
  • Try to find patterns and or response structures that have worked for students from the given example responses! In this manner you can have something to draw from going into the vocal presentation.

🕛 Before you Write

What should a student do in the first few minutes, before they start writing?

  • Prepare your response! Take a breath and try to think basically! A lot of times, the cultural comparison questions are very broad! Keep your mind open and don’t overcomplicate when thinking about your response.
  • Create a T-chart to organize your thoughts. One side for each culture. This will serve as a quick reference during your presentation, helping you stay organized and articulate your ideas effectively. There is no need to write in complete sentences as you are short on time, preferably do bullet points.

🏛️ Structuring Your Response

  • Use a structure you are comfortable using and practice with, it can be something like introduction to the question, similarities, differences, and conclusion.
  • Be comfortable using transition words between different parts of your presentation, they come in handy for so many parts of the exam.
  • Building on the previous point, incorporate to showcase a diverse vocabulary. When making comparisons employ phrases like “similarmente,” “las dos obras,” “ambas regiones/paises,” “tanto ___ como ___, “ and “en comparacion”. For contrasting, utilize expressions such as “sin embargo,” “por otro lado,” “a diferencia de,” “en contraste,” and “es distinto a”. These transitions enhance the flow of your presentation and help in the clarity of your comparative and contrasting points.
  • When presenting, establish a solid structure by starting with a greeting, introducing yourself, and addressing the theme. An effective might sounds like, “Buenos días, mi nombre es [Your Name], y hoy voy a comparar [insert theme] tanto en mi comunidad de [Community Name] como en [Spanish Speaking Community].” This sets a clear tone for your cultural comparison, engaging your audience from the beginning and providing a roadmap for your comparison.

😬 Common Mistakes

  • Try not to focus so much on getting all your information out and rather on what you are saying and how you are saying it. Once again, utilizing different tenses (including the subjunctive!!) will really demonstrate to readers the depth of your speaking abilities! Try to remember this when you are thinking about a response!
  • Take a breath!! A lot of people make the mistake of talking way too fast and running out of things to say to fill up the remaining time. It’s better to run out of time than to run out of things to say. The latter can reflect poorly on your score for this section. Try and think of your talking points in sections or in a format where you can add transition words and place emphasis on certain points. Think of it like a presentation or a Pecha Kucha (if you’ve ever done one in class) and speak at a moderate pace.

💡Tips for Fluent Presenting

  • It’s better to have less information that is fluent than crammed fast info, so try your best to speak at a calm pace to prevent mistakes that come with speaking too fast.
  • It is important you keep this in mind, so that you don’t feel pressured to add on/cram in information towards the end to merely hit the maximum time stamp.
  • This may lead to repetitiveness, lack of fluidity, and your response may be taken as unorganized (having been all over the place, without following one particular point).
  • Prior to going into the exam, ensure you have memorized transitional phrases and or synonyms to bridge gaps in knowledge and statements made.
  • Filler words: When speaking, avoid using words like “ummm” or “ I mean”. Instead, employ filler phrases in Spanish for a smoother delivery. Some expressions are “pues,” “entonces,” “bueno,” and “es decir”. These phrases will not only help you gather your thoughts but also contribute to a more fluent and confident presentation in Spanish.
